    Is there a way to get from Thanos to Thesead WITHOUT cliff climbing or going through the bandit camp?

    You can always walk back to llevigar get a boat to jofash
    Traverse through sky islands and molten heights then get there

    But the bandit camp is the only way without climbing

    I've found that if you go east of Thanos you will eventually find a cliff cave with this "water dungeon" in it. (Do NOT go in that dungeon, as there is no way out except /kill.) If you continued swimming up the stream of water, you will enter another cave with parasites and ropers. If you get to the other end of that cave, you will find the forest that leads to Thesead.
