I'm suggesting that we the people call bumping a thread too much, "bouncing."
That's what.

if a thread is getting bumped too much you leave it alone, if the op wants to keep bumping his thread he is welcome to, no need to call it something else.

 

Does it matter if we need to?
It works in a conversation and that's all that matters.

 

I divide threads into:
Immortal - threads that can be necro'd forever (like various guides and art threads).
alive - threads that are currently trending but will get inactive and sink away from public memory.
dead - threads that have sank into the locked pages (altho they removed that feature) these threads are good as locked.
forced - threads that are supposed to be dead but are forced back up into public attention (can be turned back into a live thread).
locked - threads that got locked.

I get what you are saying, I just call it by a different name (there are also not a lot of threads like this)

 

Bouncing would mainly be a term referring to Trade Market threads and General Suggestions threads.
I don't mean necrobumping btw.
I meant like bumping every hour on the hour = bouncing.
