    Hello Wynn community!

I'm a pre-Gavel Wynncrafter intrigued to give the game another go. However, I've logged into my Archer class only to find the inventory all but deleted except a now unidentified Bob's Mythic bow, apparently not able to be re-identified. It would seem that in his haste to run off to Gavel, he's done left all his goodies behind.

So here's my quandary: is there any way to avoid this on my 3 other (lvl 75) classes?
All had end-game armor sets, Bob's mythic weapons, and inventories stocked to the brim (gear from my former life as a Wynn merchant).
Or is this the inevitable welcome-back-bullet that I'm destined to bite?

Any friendly advice or support is appreciated!

With thanks from a former Wynn community lover,
    Romzy

You can't identify your Bob's Mythics again because of a bug, but there's better weapons in the game now. Your armor should be fine unless your class has a full inventory, in which case it will fall on the ground.

Armour now have skill points requirement if your inventory is full then it most likely glitches out
Also don't worry too much the old end game set is not the best to wear together anymore and theres a lot more added to the game
level cap is now 100 as well so the lost you had should be easily recovered if you have some LE
Bob's mythic weapon is bad even compare to weapons of similar level that does elemental damage (yeh elements are now a thing), Maelstorm, Ethereal, Chakram and Scythe can easily out damage it

The game now encourage you to build around 2-3 specific element, your attack and defence will be more effective if you focus your skill point on certain skills and use weapons of that element (such as if you like spam spells you should put intel and use water weapon and armor). Powders also encourage this play style by adding elemental attack or defence to your gears. A lot has changed and you should take a look in changlogs in news section for more information, specifically the Gavel Update changlog and Gameplay Update blogs

PM me here or in game if you want more information, Im a veteran player as well I've been through the confusion when I first join back the server after gavel update like you are having right now :)

If you want, I may be able to give you my Bob's Mythic for a small price (later today). It has a few earth powders on it, and if you're wondering what those are, there's an elemental system, and powders have been changed a lot since last time they were updated.

Thanks @JuicedBananas, I may have lost the armor to despawn. No worries, a few deleted pixels won't quell my spirit!

@SilverMirror -- Now this is the type of help that makes a return to this community enjoyable. A HUGE thank you to you friend! It looks like I have quite alot to learn, if I decide to stick with it.

A few other questions for you:
    1. Any good forum guides to the new elementals, powders, etc?
    2. I've seen some people express that Gavel is better experienced for the first time via a lower level (whatever the entry level into Gavel is) versus a lvl 75 class... any opinion on that?
    3. Knowing what you know now, what's the first things you would focus on returning to the game from pre-Gavel?
Really appreciate your willingness to help. It's efforts like yours that make this a more friendly community!

Thankya kindly @Pawky! Things have changed a lot since I last played, hopefully the community culture is still healthy!

@griffinlovato , I'm all good. Sounds like the other lvl 75 rare items may be better now with the addition of elements, so I'll stick to those.

    1. there is a wiki page here that should give you a rough idea https://wiki.wynncraft.com/index.php?title=Powders
    2. Gavel is for level 40-100, and the content ranges wildly. If you ever venture into an area with mobs much higher than your level, it probably means that you should not be there.
    3. Doing all the new quests and basically getting to level 90 instantly. (I recommend Memory Paranoia 10/10 or Shattered minds for pure memes).

    1. Theres a lot of guides for elements but generally its a simple idea you can explore across your playthrough, theres a level 10 quest that introduce this concept to new players and returning players, elements are linked to your skills etc if u hv 100 skill points in defence you'll benefit a lot more from fire element like using fire weapons and armours. This thread can help u a lot with powders

    2. I've played through gavel with my lv 75s before starting a new one i'll say its definitely more enjoyable if you progress from the beginning, however you can try levelling and doing quests with a lv 75 first before starting a new class to get a grasp on the new mechanics.

    3. From my personal experience first things you would want to do is try out the new quests from lv 65+, the quests have a lot of depth and story making everyone very enjoyable, also you can discover new gears and mechanics while levelling to around lv 90 just by doing the quests. Making builds (weapon armour skill point combos) are much more fun because there is a lot of options right now as you would want to find gears that benefit your play style and element more, sometimes uniques and rare can have better effect on you and its a fun thing to do when you're comfortable with the new system.

Just to confirm, so pre-Gavel Bob's Mythics are essentially worthless? I imagine there's no fixing the items and the "no refunds" rule applies. I'm not expecting to get them back, just want to express my disappointment at this. For us pre-Gavel players returning to Wynn (and hoping to have reason to stick around and support this great game/community), it does leave a bit of a sour taste in the mouth to find all our previous main weapons now useless.

Thank you for making that clear. =)

Still disappointed that this happens to us pre-Gavel returners. Hopefully you all have done what you can to look into a bug like this.

Disappointing as it is, they're no longer endgame weapons so you can get better weapons to replace your Bob's Mythics.

Thank you @Caliborn. Yes, I am looking forward to the new weapons! Though the Bob's Mythics did hold a special place in my heart. =P

For us Pre-Gavel players, it was a big achievement. Alas, my four pairs have now found a new home in the Detlas trash bin. Next to heaps of bone meal and tufts of wool. I hope they are cozy. ;)

I can shed a bit of light on this as an item maker.

See, unique and rare and sometimes even legendary items can now be bought in many weapon and armour shops. But, due to the way identifications changed, a tag was needed so you wouldn't just end up buying an item that you had no idea what it was, so we added the "identified: true" tag. But, this was quickly abused with the new re-identification feature that lets you identify items more than once(for an added cost) to try and get better numbers, so we patched it so that items with that identified tag could not be re-identified.

Thus, your item fell victim to an unfortunate quirk. Since it was in your inventory before Gavel, and thus not bought from the shop, the identified tag doesn't work; it only works when bought from a merchant. But, at the same time, it was a legendary item with ID's, so when Gavel came around, it was turned unidentified due to the system...but because it has the tag, it still can't be re-identified.

Additionally, Bob's Mythics now serve a "Jack-of-all-trades" purpose with decent identifications that don't pertain to any particular element, but also can be utilized with powders to customize or just for straight-up neutral damage. So, while still useful, further specialization can make other weapons stronger even at-level simply due to the changing dynamic.
    ________________________________
Yes it is due to its identifications, but the other pieces generally are not, except for some very quirky builds.
