Weapon Skins

So I scrapped a ton of stuff, and got some (what I think would be cool) weapon skins. However, the 'no texture' thing is coming up. Is this happening for everyone?

 

if your problem is that the skins looks like diamond tools, use 1.9+

 

Are you must be using 1.8.9? If you are, it only works in 1.9/1.10/1.11.
