Tower Of Ascension With Level 40 - Only 1 Level Up?

I've tried out something:
With my level 83 mage I collected all tokens needed for Tower of Ascension again. I put them into the bank and gave them to my level 40 archer. Then I ran through the floors, finished the quest and got only 1 level up, but it says "+975000 XP".

This page says there are 46100 XP needed from level 40 to 41. All in all that should be 10 level ups or sth like this. Can someone explain me the system behind this?

you just arent supposed to complete toa at lv 40

 

ToA reduces its XP reward for players below lvl 75 based on how much lower they are

Oh ok I thought it is working like this with every quest.

 

What would the game consider "appropriate level" for you to finish the Hive?

 

Likely between 95-100

 

85 ish too because before someone could lvl up from 80 to around 83 or 86 (Insane xp bonus and dxp)

 

It would just boost you to 51, making you skip some important quests, also it is too OP. So your reward would be approximately 45.000~

Uh actually getting to 89 on dxp and xp armor was the norm when that was a thing
