Mob Totems May Be Broken

I was playing last night and then decided to grind at ToL because i still had my 6 mob totems and i placed one down and had no problems but then i placed another down and it didn't appear but it gave the "mob totem placed" message and took away one of my totems. I tried four more three more times and the same thing happened. I tried with my last totem and in was there but the actual totem didn't appear. I have no idea what happened and I just wanted to know if this is common or if I broke something.

 

Sometimes when you place a totem down, it glitches and it doesn't appear. I've had that happen to me a few times, but not as many times as you had it.

I would just let it go and wait until tomorrow to place more of them. It may have been a one time glitch caused by server lag or something else.

 

I'm not sure if this is the reason but try placing them on flat ground

 

Just switch servers. Why did you try it 5 times and waste all of your totems?

 

Same happened to me in freezing heights

 

Make sure the totem isn't being placed on a half slab, or carpet. If you fail to place a totem down two or more times, I would try to switch wynncraft servers. Hopefully this will help you with placing future totems. Good luck!

It's become a better spot for grinding because nobody grinds there anymore.

Also because of hardly any ranged mobs it's easy to survive; demon cave is a LOT harder to survive in.

 

I've found I get much higher quality loot from Freezing Heights than Demon Cave too. From a good hour and a half of grind partying in Demon Cave, I got about one or two rares, whereas the same amount of time at Freezing Heights, I got many rares and even four legendaries (Gale's Force, [Legendary Spear], Alazarin, Third Eye).

 

I can't enter Demon Cave without being torn up to bits. Barely walking in there takes my health down to half, and I have over 13,000 health. It's mainly because the demon mobs use thunder damage, and I'm incredibly weak to thunder (I might change builds because of this).

Freezing Heights on the other hand has mobs that deal neutral or water damage, which I'm more immune to versus thunder. The mobs are slower, and you can easily kill them with a fire weapon (even better with fire powders and Courage). I used Freezing Heights to grind my warrior to lv100, and I can even go in there with looting armor on since the mobs are more "grind friendly".

Also, as @Nepeta Leijon said, the loot tends to be better in Freezing Heights since there are more mob kills there. Killing just a few Freezing Heights mobs gives you tons of items/emeralds, and after a bit of grinding you'll eventually find one or more legendaries.

Heck, I even saw someone find a Gaia in Freezing Heights...

 

The only problems I have there, is that the mobs take ages to kill for me. Def+str warriors should have no problems grinding here with, correct items of course.
