Why does its fandom exist.....

 

because the game's good

 

Because every game, and most other forms of media, whether it be a book series, movie, etc. have a fandom. The fandom can be good or the fandom can be bad.

I'd say Undertale's is about half-and-half. Half of it is the good side, filled with fans like me that respect all opinions of the game, even the negative ones, and don't bother people into playing it or telling them how to play it.

Then there's the bad half. This half is all the crazy fangirls/fanboys who spam Megalovania everywhere and give people unnecessary hate just because they don't agree that they like the game or think that (X) character is the best. They also tell people how to play the game "correctly", even though the game is based entirely how you want to play it, there's no "right" or "wrong" way to play it.

This has been my "rant." I intend no harm or negative opinions on those reading this. Peace.

Why is it so toxic half the time? Dunno, just is.

 

It has a large fanbase. Larger fanbase = more cancer. QED.

Undertale has ended up like most other popular games, such as FNAF, Roblox, and even Minecraft (specifically YouTuber fans and Mineplex/Hypixel players). Because of its vast popularity, a fandom is created, and in it comes the annoying, "toxic" individuals who in essence ruin the game. As a result, many people hate on games like Undertale or FNAF simply because its fandom is corrupt.

I personally like Undertale because of its music, lore, and character expressions. However, I'm not one of those people who go onto forums or blogs and repeatedly post Undertale stuff to the point of it being annoying. And while my persona and avatar relate to Undertale, I only do that because 1) I like Undyne's character, 2) using my IGN would be awkward, and 3) the warrior class uses spears.

I am posting my opinion about Undertale's stereotyped fandom, but I'm not going to post about Undertale in other areas regarding Wynncraft. If the fandom of Undertale didn't exist, people would probably give the game a chance.
