Gear Skin 'error'

So recently I got 'godly Dern wand' reward from a daily crate however whenever I use it instead I see the error block or whatever its called. Does anyone know how to fix it? If it helps I play in 1.8.9.

 

"Upgrade" to 1.9, because weapon skins work then (each skin is a different durability in either a diamond pickaxe or shovel. Because, idk, 1.9?).

 

and then horses , boats, and attack timing dont work [Attack timing is fixed w/ wynnpak]

As @Poiu429 said, you must use 1.9+ in order to see the item skins.

On top of that, you're going to have to go into your ".minecraft" folder and delete the files inside of the "server-resource-packs" folder. Restart the game and the updated texture pack should download.

Just a note: some skins will be glitched in terms of their model not matching their item (such as the Relic Bow texture). If you want to fix that, I have a guide in my signature on how to do so.

Also, 1.9 will mess up your horse riding/boat riding, but for me I don't really mind it.
