Free Crates At All?

So will the crates all have to be bought in one why or another? You can't just stumble upon them somehow?

Selling something that can be obtained ingame is illegal in the terms of the EULA.

Don't get me wrong, i'd like a free T1 crate on Christmas or something, but that would get Wynncraft into trouble with Mojang

I'd rather buy them anyway, just to support the server and stuff.

 

At least they could add a t1 monthly for default players.

There is no clause in the EULA stating that the server cannot give out free cosmetic items...

 

I'll say never read it, but educated guesses lead me to say servers cannot sell things that can be obtained in-game, even in situations like what I said that you specifically quoted ( should have quoted me saying:

I assume that your guess about selling things obtained in game was due to the removal of GC. This was because the EULA did not allow the selling of ingame currencies (including cosmetic ones). It is fine to sell stuff that can be recieved in game as long as it follows the rest of the EULA (aka. it doesn't give gamebreaking advantages, doesn't give a player and edge over a non donator, doesn't give higher loot chances or extra xp, etc.)

Mob totems are supposedly allowed because they benefit everyone near them, not just the one buyer, so technically they are allowed.

Basically the question at hand is whether "obtainable in-game" means:

-Obtainable through regular gameplay

or

-Obtainable by any means other than donation

I do know that a fair number of servers distribute "event" cosmetics, but whether these are truly legal or not is vague.

Crates are an extra cosmetic thing that add NO GAMEPLAY ADVANTAGES. If you want some, go buy them like everyone else. I'm sorry if you don't have the money or if the snarky attitude of this post offends you, but that's just the way it is.
