Helping A Friend

So.... This has nothing to do with Minecraft or anything, so I feel like this would be a place to post it.

My friend has been hacked recently, and this is the second time. She's really insecure because she's been bullied a lot, and she changes her password every week, because there are specific people who feel the need to make her life hell. She just got hacked again, we don't know now, is there a way we could track IP or something?.....

 

I'm sure admins (idk about mods) have at least a way to check an IP that's linked to an account, but its not likely they'll take time out of their day to investigate this matter.

Regarding protection.
Changing your password every week is cool but if its switching from "kawai4" to "d0g" its not going to be much use.
My passwords are always 20 characters long at least and have symbols, letters and numbers in a random order.
Maybe her password is not weak but it's a possibility she has a virus or even a custom launcher that phishes it right to the hacker.

 

I'm talking about Snapchat and Instagram, not the Forums or Minecraft

 

what devices does she log into those accounts on?

 

You said there are specific people
If she knows them IRL
Report them to the authorities
Hacking accounts is indeed illegal in a lot of countries
If she is getting bullied
The Crisis Line is always available
