Guide How To Post Responsibly

Due to a rising number of "I lost my item posts" and "I am stuck" posts, I have decided to make this thread explaining what to post, and what not to post in certain sections.

GENERAL PROBLEMS

When you have a problem ask yourself these questions.

- Is it something that many people have already encountered?
- Can it be fixed simply by using a command?
- Is it a small problem that doesn't effect the game?

In all these situations, you will most likely answer yes. This means that there is no need to create a post explaining your problem, as there is nothing anyone can do for you about it.

ACTUAL PROBLEMS

In the few situations where you find all the answers above the be no, then here is what you do.

You can either...
- Contact support if it's absolutely necessary
- Post it in Bug Reports

Do not...
- Post it in Guilds
- Post it in Wynncraft
- Post it anywhere but Bug Reports

Legitimate problems will only be noted if you post them somewhere the staff can see it. Contacting support is usually easier than posting it on Bug Reports, but isn't always necessary.

SPECIFICS

There are some cases where you don't necessary have a problem, but you just post something that isn't needed.

Some cases are...
- Dropping an item
- Suggestions with no detail
- Shit-posting (Only acceptable in VIP Plaza)

In these cases you just need to use common sense. If you lose something, you aren't going to get it back as no one ever does. If you have a suggestion put some detail into it. If you post something that isn't relevant, it will most likely just get buried.

- Post about mainstream problems

people who encounter problems in game usually don't look for an answer on the forums but post a thread immediately (example #1: stuck threads)

 

this is just going to be washed away like all the other 'guide to new players' threads. i see no point in making it.

plus, as Yuno said most players coming on the forums just to say 'halp plz im stuck XD' or 'halp i lost mi sord plz hlep XDDD' they aren't (generally) going to think twice about where they're posting. They will just run and post in the nearest subforum they see. Plus, all it takes is one person saying '/kill if you have 5+ SP' or 'No refunds, sorry!' is all it takes. Then someone can report the thread for it to be closed.

 

What's up with all those threads
I mean, it's just common sense.

 

I've always wondered; why are there so many people in this internet world that do not know forum etiquette, and generally don't have a clue about finding their way in one? Bugs me each time.

what's up with all the Guides that i can't follow

 

Many of these threads have been made, but like others said when a new player encounters what they think is a glitch/bug they automatically make a thread and don't look around for an answer. So while it's great you decided to think about the community and make this thread, it's probably not going to get us anywhere with the current issue.
