Downloading Terrain Stuck

I'm stuck at Downloading terrain. This isn't my first time through. Not sure what to do?

it reloads all chunks for your vision

 

restarted MC, F3+A doesn't work when loading the world, restarted system and it worked, but when I disconnected and entered the server, I still get downloading terrain :(

I though that she said "Downloading Terraria" so I was like wut. Bbut yra, just try restarting mc.

 

Do you generally get this or any other issue?

If you're referring to the "Downloading terrain" message upon entering a world, it's because your ping/connection to the server is a bit high. Entering worlds with 20+ people will cause a long waiting time with this message.

My suggestion is to find worlds that have less than 20 people in them (such as a world that just restarted). Typically, even with bad ping, you can enter those low player worlds fairly quickly.

If it's doing the "Downloading terrain" lag upon entering the hub/lobby, then it may be that your connection is so bad that it is impossible to get on the server. At that point, the only thing I can recommend is checking your internet speed and making adjustments when necessary.

I don't think reinstalling MC or restarting a computer will fix this problem since it's based on the internet connection.

 

Go into your settings and just like automatic resource pack downloading, turn off terrain downloading. This can be done by unplugging your router right when you select a world.

thank you everyone for your input; to Bow_, ya no; I'm older than most on this server if we're going with the average age of MC players

 

I've had this glitch for a few months, none of these solutions worked except the one about joining low pop servers

 

Am I the only one where it takes over 5 minutes of downloading the terrain to join any world at any time, no matter the lag or number of online players?
