My Pc's Gone Weird After The Gameplay Update

Don't know if this is the right place to post this type of problem, but it's technical, so why the hell not?

Anyways, I've got a bit of a performance/framerate problem for minecraft, and it may of occurred on more servers than Wynncraft. Basically when I'm in the more dense or heavy detailed areas of gavel or wynn, my frames drop - like, impossibly bad. This isn't a problem I haven't dealt with before, considering the last computer I used to play Wynn was a clunky old desktop, but I find it strange because this only began happening after the gameplay update was released. Before then, everything was hunky-dory. I could even run shaders sometimes.
Has anyone had the same problems? I have a laptop that's less than a year old, and every other game I play runs smoothly :/

Optifine should help.

 

When you get it, turn down settings since that's what it's for

 

I have optifine, it's been what's helping me before the gameplay update. Maybe I should update optifine itself? Or just switch to 1.10?

 

Wynncraft is currently most compatible with 1.8. If you already have optifine then just put all your settings down, and allocate more memory if you have spare.

 

Funny, I know how to sort out settings and everything for minecraft, but I don't know how to allocate memory. Care to explain?

 

He'll tell you I can't be bothered just whatever you do don't allocate more than 9 gb because it melts your graphics card

 

My MC has 12GB lol. I have 24GB total

Most compatible? Nothing changed for me when I switched to 1.10. MC Even ran a lil better on there

Change the first part to maybe 50% of the RAM you have inside your PC (System Settings > System and Security > System). I have 8GB RAM on my 2nd PC for example:
You can also multiply the last part (-Xmn 128M) * the amount of ram(in GB) you allocated. For example 128 * 4 if you allocated 4 GB.
If you somehow break your PC, I'm not responsible for that.

 

You probably should lower your amount allocated before you don't have a graphics card anymore

How does allocating more then 9 gb of ram ruin graphic cards?

That's what 400 other guys told me on an irc channel when I allocated 10gb to minecraft

Stuff like it will "chew through your GPU" a good amount of them built their own pc so I trust what they have to say

 

Uhh well I have to say I think they are lying (I've seen TONS of people with 10+ gb of ram allocated to minecraft) and I don't understand how allocating ram could kill your gpu

I play in 1.8.8 with optifine on a 12gb ram pc, and only use 1gb of ram for mc. Minecraft runs perfectly with no issues or lag. Are you sure allocating more even helps?

 

It does a little. You definitely won't run into Out of Memory errors anymore xD

Then you probably didn't play with modpacks yet or big things in singleplayer
