Any Class Help Are There Any Classes At Significant Disadvantage?

I've played other Minecraft MMOs, and it seems more often than not, there will be a significant disadvantage. Most instances will have the "Ranging" ability up-gradable, but there will be no range weapons past a basic bow. Is that the same with this server, or can I choose any class I wish, and be able to still play into the late game content?

 

All classes are playable all the way to the end, and well, at that. However, Assassin is a difficult class to play; it requires good know-how on making builds and combos to play well, especially in PVP. Mage is the easiest to play, due to its Heal spell, allowing it to heal itself at any time without the need to use potions.

 

Assassin is a pretty difficult class to play, as awemanrank has said, but it DOES have a total level requirement of 60, so you'll at least get some experience before being able to even choose the class.

I wouldn't call mage overpowered besides it's heal spell but it is a good class in general. You get 1 long range spell 1 ultity spell 1 effective damage spell and 1 mobility spell making it a balanced class. Warrior has a natural tackiness and 2 offensive spells with 1 long range spell and 1 mobility spell also a very effective class. This leaves us with archers and assassins. Assassin has a few quirks and some mana problems. Has the worst mobility spell in terms of travelling but has 3 offensive spells even though one of them isn't very good and also lacks any long ranged spell making it easily kited. Archer in my opinion has the most struggles late game in PvE because it in general can't take hits very well. Archer has 2 extremely good offensive spells 1 boarder line offensive/utility spell and a free speed. In the end I'd say mage struggles the least followed by assassin then archer. Even with this the struggles can easily be solved by a simple health potion or the correct build.

This is all based on my opinion and mostly my friends (but I think most people would agree with me) and I have also played all classes as you can see in my signature.

#3 Mage (I find it boring as hell)

Assassin is probably the trickiest to play but provides challenge making it fun, mage is just a little tough until level 21, but then you're fine since you're a practical boring tank. Warrior is fun according to most people but personally my favorite is archer because of the mobility at early game which is a popular reason of why people leave >> because it's hard to get around without a horse.

 

I'm having loads of fun messing about as an archer and learning. I wish I learned about this server sooner.

you're forgetting smoke bomb I think

 

Smoke Bomb's Range can go as far out as 10 - 15 blocks or so, unless it's aerial you can do a little bit more.
It's range, but not 'long' range.

There are SO many things wrong with this, mainly the fact that smoke bomb is very much a ranged spell, and multihit is actually EXTREMELY good, especially with raw spell damage

You can throw smoke bombs at about the same distance as an enderpearl in vanilla, so about 30-40 blocks

 

False. The trajectory is closer to 10-15 blocks as was stated. Enderpearls can travel much farther than that.

 

I meant throwing it at a 45 degree angle relative to the ground. throwing it parallel to the ground it lands at ~12 blocks

 

~8 blocks, you mean. Throwing it at a 45 degree angle lands it ~15-20 blocks away. Just measured approximately for myself.

 

Each has their benefits and flaws.

Mage: Almost invincible, but can do no melee damage whatsoever.

Archer: Great range, very high damage, but can't take many hits.

Warrior: Major Tank, but spells aren't as strong.

Assassin: Fun and Challenging with high damage, but has very little range.



Also, in PvP, some classes struggle against other classes but have an advantage against others

For example, Mage > Assassin due to ice snake, but Archer > Mage due to it's defense not being very high compared to archer's damage and the fact that it can outrange Mage.

Warrior is the most defensive and overall "strongest" if you will.
Archer is strong when it gets bomb arrow at level 21 and trains very fast due to it's high range and high damage.
Mage can do lots of damage to, but your main damage spell (Meteore) isn't 100% accurate.
Assassin is a crowd control and 1v1 class, with the ability to blind enemies and cleanse yourself of negative effects.

 

Well still I just don't think it is that good also smoke bomb isn't long ranged though yes it is ranged.
