So I'm playing Hunter, and I can't figure out which one is better to work than the other.

Is it better to have more Dexterity than Strength or the other way around? I know Dexterity is a chance of critting, but still, if you max that out, you'll crit most of the time. Though, I read a lot of posts saying maxing Strength one-shots most mobs/does a LOT of damage overall.

It doesn't matter. Statistically, 10 hits from a weapon do = damage with str v dex.

Its a question of what fits your gear and style. Slow strength weapons hit harder, and some with more defensive armor, while thunder weapons hit faster, and come with more speed based armor. Both str and dex synergize well with int as well.

    Its a question of consistency/dph vs speed/dps.

Though, you could always put some in both and go for rainbow or just go pure str/dex, which hits fast AND hard, and it has armor typically focused on poison/lifesteal

Earth usually comes with the downside of slow mobility and slow attack speed.
Dex usually comes with the downsides of weak defenses (i think) and weak base attack.
