I don't recall specific threads addressing this issue, but need someone to explain the affect and damage value when equipping powders and Specials on my Whimsy and Voidlight wands.

    1) Whimsy has very little neutral dmg to convert, so would it be wasteful to use two T5 powders (i was thinking Fire, I don't know if this is best, but i wanted more damage from Whimsy) or should I stick to just adding two T4 powders for the Special? I just want to understand how the conversion works when adding powders. How much of the Whimsy's neutral dmg, will a T4 powder need to consume versus a T5 powder - hence would a T5 be wasted because the Whimsy might have less neutral dmg needed for a T5 conversion.

    2) Second issue is with the Voidlight: it doesn't have any neutral dmg to convert into elemental dmg and a Special. The Voidlight has three powder slots. I had planned to add two T4 for a special and add a different powder (i don't know which kinds to put but Voidlight has Air and Thunder damage). So how do powders actually work in this wand?

    Thank You ..

(and if there are threads already discussing with a solution… please post link.. thanks !)

Powders also add a raw amount of damage in addition to converting neutral. For instance, a T6 thunder powder adds 5-40 thunder damage, regardless of neutral conversion.

Once when I had a water t4 I just added it to my Manablast. As it has no neutral damage as well there wasnt anything to convert and I think its a good example.

In the second picture you can see a water t4 powder which adds 8-12 water damage and converts 21% neutral to water damage. My manablast has only 8-12 more water damage, so as @Selvut283 said, if there is no neutral damage it will only add the raw amount.

I would definitely put the best powders you have on it if it is a wand you want for a long time because of the increased raw damage. You can always get more powders for your next weapon and hit up powder relics if you need quick powder also.
