Attack Speed

I know this might seem stupid but im confused about what this stat actually does. Before the gameplay update it used to buff spell damage but didnt change the speed at which you melee attack. (it changed the animation but the hits registered at the usual speed). Now if im correct it does effect spell damage anymore so what does it do now or is it useless?​

 

As of now iirc tier does not affect spell damage at all and should only affect how fast you are able to hit a something per second

 

but does it actually affect the hit speed or does it just change the hit speed animation but no the registration like it did pre gameplay update?

 

It ACTUALLY increases the hit speed, as it was intended too

so its fixed xD. Thanks m8. 1 more question (sorry). Say if I have a wep with normal attack speed and an item with +1 tier attack speed. Does that increase the weapons attack speed to "fast" or is the increase smaller than this?

What? I know that. That wasnt what i asked him. i asked by how much does it increase the attack speed. ie does it go from normal to fast with +1 tier or is the increase less than that.

It ups it to the next tier which is "fast".
There are seven tiers, super slow, very slow, slow, normal, fast, very fast, super fast.
+ and - attacks move you to the next tier up (or down).
You cannot go higher or lower than super. So having Breezehands with Az, which is already super fast is pointless.
Having Taurus, with -9 attack tier, when you are using something that is super slow already, doesn't hurt you at all.
Actually, since attack tier modifiers no longer effect spells, taurus is now a mage armor.
super slow is a .5 multiplier on your damage. Normal is 2x. Super fast is 4x. the others are about .6 or .7 apart from those listed.
So, if the negative multiplier on your spell or melee damage is -40%- most items have an offsetting negative- your coming out ahead by 20% or 30%.
