Siegfried

So I was walking around Llevigar when I found a Siegfried Fan Merchant.
He sells a special "Siegfried Mug" for 1.5LE which is apparently part of the "Limited Siegfried Collection."
After a little more searching, I found the same merchant in the cities of Cinfras and Ahmsord.
Each city had one special "Limited Item" as well as some other misc. items related to this great hero.
Cinfras sold a "Siegfried Mask".
Ahmsord sold a "Siegfried's Signature" which was on sale for 3 LE.
The mask was out of sale, and was stolen. I think that there'll be a place where we can find the mask and collecting the three items might do something.
I don't really know if this is related somehow, but I just wanted to throw this out there.

 

Interesting! They don't seem like equippable items, so either they're just an easter egg, or part of all this.

Now, from what I know of the norse/germanic legends, Siegfried is the a royal, who grew up an orphan under care of a dwarf, Alberich in some stories. He went on to slay the dragon Fafnir and claim the legendary sword Balmung. He also found a magical hat, the 'tarnkappe' within the dragon's horde that granted its wearer the ability to change shapes. In bathing in dragon blood, he became both invincible (save for a spot on his shoulder blades) and could communicate with birds. Some ravens he found led him far away to a ring of fire where he found the valkyrie Brünnhilde (spellings vary). They fell in love, and she gave siegfried a ring, marking their love. Later, Siegfried visited the (danes?) a scandinavian royalty, and during his visit, Kriemhild, the daughter of King Günther, who Siegfried was visiting fell in love with him. She used a love potion and made him forget all about Brünnhilde, and so they married and lived happily. Times passed, and eventually Hagen, the advisor to Günther, grew suspicious of Siegfried. On a hunting trip later, when Siegfried went to wash himself in a river, Hagen snuck behind him and launched a spear right between Siegfried's shoulder blade. And so died Siegfried. His funeral was viking-style, put onto a boat and launched out to sea, and then ignited by arrow.

Now, how is this relevant, you ask? It probably isn't, but now you learned some things today.

Maybe try finding more of these 'siegfried' items, or at least photographing them all, would be a great help. And if anything is animated, try and record it; there might be a hidden message in there.

 

Well, if you search the name up on the wynncraft item guide, it shows up as a rare helmet.

 

Well wadda you know. Either some other staff like Lord of the Rings, or there is a huge 'Siegfried' based easter-egg developing around us. I think we need to just keep gathering data right now.

 

Search siegfried on the forums, he is a hero of gavel.

 

Well, it looks like Headset_O is just interested in the old norse stories. Their quest better be good (and canonically correct).

There was a merchant buying Siegfried stuff in Letvus airbase towards the top

 

EXPLANATION TL;DR

Bob might still be alive as he was last known to be using "his life force to fight off the Beast" (referring to a Beast of Darkness)

Dead Island's Siwel claims a Hero from Ragni came to slay the Beast that hatched from an egg from Dern on the Island. Fits the description, right..?

Not quite, looking on the map, if the hero really was Bob, going to Dead Island would have given him easy access point to Jofash Docks, the only known location that leads you to Gateway Island.

Gateway Island contains a Sealed Letter which is unfinished.

Since Bob sent Sealed Letters to Nilrem (one of the most powerful mages in Wynn (Nilrem is theorized to be Merlin), we are safe to assume Bob has been to Gateway Island and we all know where the cave on that island leads to.. a Dark Realm which houses creatures similar to the Ancients that fled Dern..
