How Do I Get Rid Of Left Over Crystal Shards?

I completed the Wynnexcavation quest line and I still have yellow and purple shards left over. I cannot throw them out and they consume more bank space than I have to spare. Send help.

Oh yeah, and spoiler alert because I'm not taking any chances.

have a stack of items in your inventory as well as the shards, put the shards in your crafting table accessed with your inventory (normally it's 'E').
Fill up the now empty inventory slots with your stackable item then exit out of your inventory.
The items should disappear.

 

Just seems to give me the same message as before, that I need them for some future quest. I believe the issue stems from the time I tried using /fixquests in an attempt to retrieve a key from another quest, but all it did was give me a ton of crystal shards, which I already had. Thanks for the suggestion though!"

 

When you claim your daily rewards, put the crystals in there. It will allow you to close the gui without giving them back to you.
