A Returning Player, I Really Need Help!

I am a player that used to play a lot of Wynncraft back when i bought VIP in summer 2014, i then ended up taking a break from it for over a year due to other occupations. So, i am now trying to come back and play but mostly everything is different and i have no clue what is going on. For instance, i spawned in this update room and now all of my items need to be identified before i can use them but all my emeralds were in my bank, so i don't know what to do. If anyone could help me get back on my feet, or take me through the changes that would be very much appreciated!

But trying reading over the change logs. (It may be a lot but it's worth knowing)
Other people could summarize it better than me, so I'm not really going to.

 

I did not leave as i knew that would be a bad move, and i have read through the change logs already. Its a lot of information, and most just went straight over my head.

Well alot has changed. I would suggest going to the news section and read through all the changelogs.

 

Okay, I'm just gonna give some main points you should know.
-Health, not defense, now
-Lava/fire hurts
-Id all Id-able items before using
-Read up on Elements/Powders

 

I recommend you start another class to learn the update a bit, it will help a ton.

 

Ok so it looks like you quit right around the time that I did.

The two updates that you probably want to read before hopping into it is the Gavel update and Gameplay update.

To sum up the things I found important in those:
Gavel:

• Potions now insta-drink and have 3 uses
• A new province was released (Gavel)

Gameplay:

• DXP doens't affect quests
• Quest xp and mob xp has been buffed
• Boss altars can be fought which drop cool loot
• Lower soul points increases the chance you drop stuff when you die. It's not you lose everything when you die at 2 sp anymore

Assuming you're in the same boat as me, none of your money means anything anymore and can't be used for anything :c

So for some useful tips, starting a new class might be helpful but I learned easy enough just playing through on my first class. Make sure to keep your soul points up so you don't risk losing anything. And finding someone to play with can be a great way to learn the things you've missed.

 

Okay, thanks for your immediate help guys (and girls, covering all bases). I will start the whole process on a fresh class to fill me in. Also, do my items change upon identification? as in, will they be the same legendary's that they were before i stopped playing?

Thanks Shrubby. Why wont my money be useful? has the currency changed, or just inflation?

 

Your items should be the same but id'ing unlocks effects (poison, life steal, etc.). Even though it costs money, you want to id items even if you'll just sell them since they will sell for more than un-id'd.
Edit: Sometimes you'll get the old versions of items that still give defense and not health. Those aren't useful but I held onto mine just cause I like having legacy gear.

As for your emeralds not doing anything, when I rejoined I noticed all the emeralds that I had were different from the ones mob's dropped and no NPC would accept mine as currency. I'm assuming at some point they changed the currency.

 

I stopped playing the same time as you too. I just joined back like 4 or 5 months ago with a new mc account.

Here's some tips:
Just make a fresh new class.
Watch alot of wynncraft videos.
Explore Gavel (a new province, behind the big door)

 

The old emeralds can be turned into the new ones at Selchar.

I think you can launder your old emeralds by using them to Identify things. Not sure.
