I'm looking for a new spell bow, and I want to know how important the attack speed is.

Well, weapons with a faster attack speed tend to do less damage (initially) but do more dps.
The bug with +tier attack speed affecting spell damage is gone.

Yes, but spell damage is based on weapon damage, so to keep earth weapons from being op, they made slower weapons do less spell damage and faster weapons do more.

    The old answer was very.
Super slow was a .5 multiplier, super fast was 4 multiplier. Normal was 2, the others fit in there in increments of .6 or .7. That is, the variable damage would be figured, multiplied by the spell's modifier, armor modifiers taken into account, and then the attack speed would be applied, having or more commonly doubling or better. Raw spell damage was/is added after that.
The + attack speed buff no longer increases spell damage, but I thought that was just a question of the buff. As far as I know the damage equation still uses attack speed, which is very powerful. It just can't be changed from the weapons base speed anymore.

The values for the seven stages of speed are occasionally given out on the forums by Salted or Selvut. They are not listed in the Wiki, I presume because they don't want people crunching numbers to optimize their attacks. They would like players to try things out and experiment, treat it as a role playing game rather than a mathematical model.

I'm just trying to decide between weapons, without going through the trouble of getting them first.
