The Effects Of The New Xp Changes

WARNING: This is not hate, or me saying this should be changed. This is purely speculation.

I realize that stating things like this is a bit late after the update, but I still felt like putting it out here.
Within the changes of the Gameplay Update, many of you probably noticed the XP changes, including:

• Mob XP is at least 3x as much as it was before
• Dungeons have been given more XP

And the one that hit hardest,

• DXP or XP Bonuses will not affect Quest XP. (But Quests will give more XP)

I wanted to discuss the effects of said changes, and here are the big ones. As I go down the list, it becomes more speculation than fact, but is still nonetheless a possibility.

Value Of XP Gear

This one was kind of obvious. Before the update, most players had a set of XP gear to put on when finishing a quest . Since this won't work anymore, XP gear has lost not all of its value, but part. People won't think that maxed XP gear is worth the cost, and refuse to buy it. Here's an example (Note that I'm bad at prices):

Seller: "Selling max XP item for 2 staxs!"
Buyer 1: 2 stacks? Not really worth it. "How about 1.5 stacks?"
Seller: I won't let him scam me! "Nope, 2 stacks only."
Buyer 1: *Leaves thread*
Buyer 2: "I'll buy for a stack plus this other item!"
Seller: That item isn't worth a stack! Jeez, everyone's trying to scam me! "No, only 2 stacks!!"
Buyer 2: I'm only going to use it for grinding, I'm not spending that much! "2 stacks is too high. I'm out."
*Time goes by*
Seller: Why won't anyone buy for 2 stacks? It's a max item!
Buyer 3: "I'll buy it for 1.75 stacks!"
Seller: Ugh.. I'm not getting any other buyers, so I might as well sell it. "Sold to Buyer 3! PM me on meeting."

If you didn't understand the example, then here's the point: Players won't use XP gear as much, so they won't want to pay high prices for it. As (or if) the seller realizes this, then they will either lower the price or take lower offers. As this happens more over time, then the total value of XP gear will decrease. Onto the next effect:

Players More Likely To Die

This one wasn't as obvious, but I did my research, and using all of the max XP Gear results in having 5250 health (This doesn't include sets or Jester; I used WynnApps for this). For endgame, this is pretty bad, and unless you have a safespot or some high range, then you're in danger. With this, more players will die when being careless in grinding. This, in addition to the new SP system, will cause more players to lose their items, and lead into the next effect:

More Buyers In The Market

This one is quite the opposite of the first, but players who die due to lack of health in grinding will be looking for some replacement gear, maybe even new XP gear, which would cancel out the first effect on the list (replacing quality with quantity). But this one doesn't have much of an explanation, besides the fact that shop owners will most likely have full (If not already) pockets of LE. Speaking of the market...

XP Gear With Health Bonus Will be Most Valuable

If you're a smart player, then you'll figure out that you'll need some health bonuses to make up for that 5k health. Therefore, more people will be looking for XP gear with high health, or just some high health gear in general.

So, TL;DR if you couldn't read the subsection titles:
With DXP not affecting quest XP anymore,
XP Gear will lose value,
Players are more likely to die while grinding,
More buyers will be in the market,
and High Health Gear will gain more value.

Again, this is all speculation. I'm not saying anything should be changed. I also realize that I'm probably wrong about a lot of this, so if you have criticism, make it constructive.

The item market will be fine... I hope. Also, quests give more xp overall due to losing the ability to benefit from double xp.

 

My problem with the new xp system is the fact that none of the quests level me up at all so I have to grind almost every level. Wasn't the goal of these updates to REDUCE grinding? This update just forced us to grind a ton more than before!

 

Well since dungeons now give more XP, that's a viable option.

Just a little tip. Your really not supposed to tag mods of devs, especially Grian, Salted, or Jumla.

Some people do it (I myself am guilty of this) when a mod is directly relevant, but I suggest refraining from tagging Grian.

Just a heads up.

 

The problem is that the highest leveled dungeon is level 70 (Maybe level 75 but I'm pretty sure it's 70) so you can't level up at a decent rate doing them if you are at a high level.

I highly doubt that and you aren't suppose to tag admins since it spams them. If you are his friend then ok, could you ask him in person instead since this is off topic?

Wasn't quest exp doubled? I don't see this as a large impact. Even if you had max xp gear, the loss of that extra exp from your gear shouldn't be that bad. (Enlighten me on numbers of exp loss/gain)

Honestly, the value of exp gear will actually increase from my view point. While it could be difficult to grind with such gear on and death could be apparent, this point is overcame by how it serves as decreasing the time of grinding to as minimal as possible. Risk v. Reward.

Again, this is just speculation, and I happen to be more of a pessimist.

Actually if you check the dungeon list on the site it says there's a level 81 dungeon in the canyon of the lost

 

Mortal Mountain. I made a thread on it awhile ago, and someone said there's just a big door at those coords.

 

I grind with xp gear just fine

Yeah but it isn't added yet I've head. Like said, it's just a door there and I don't think you can actually do it. If it was added then dungeon grinding would be a option and I'd probably use it for a while even.

 

Smoke Bomb,

 

Doesn't it not do much damage?

 

It's literally the strongest spell the assassin has.

 

HAHAHA with a level 66 or above smoke bomb it gets insane power doing immense spam damage and keeping foes trapped in a MASSIVE area of smoke with the choke and wall of smoke upgrades

 

Okay then Ill take out the Assassin part
