Hello, and welcome back to Featured Wynncraftian! For those new to the series, this is where us moderators interview notable players in the community. You can even nominate someone here, if you'd like.

Now this is my first time doing anything of this sort. So if I mess up somewhere, please be gentle!

In this episode we're going to be interviewing a person who has contributed immensely to the wiki as well as creating vast amounts of lore and a timeline so this game actually makes a lick of sense (and trust me when I say that's a lot harder than it seems).

Without further ado, here is @jpmrocks

What inspired you to create your Wynn timeline in the first place?

I really like history, and the Grand Theory has been trying to predict where the lore of WynnCraft will go, and my goal to see if we can study the past to learn what the future will hold. I came up kinda inconclusive in a few places, but it did spark a few theories here and there.

In your opinion, what is the most interesting part of Wynncraft’s lore?

The most interesting part in the lore is probably about the history of the world, as I love world history to begin with, and the lore of the history of WynnCraft keeps me wanting to learn more.
​

How much do you actually study the lore of Wynn?

I study the lore when ever I see something interesting on the forums. Sometimes someone will post a cave they found, sometimes a mythic gets found, its just when I see it, really.
​

Any pieces of lore that you are interested in exploring in?

I'd really like to learn more about Tisuan, and the other major characters that weapons and equippables are named after. I know we learned more about Skien, and Gale and Ohms are in the works, so I'm excited about these characters getting more light.
​

What's your favorite secret that's been found this update?

Right now, my favorite secret is probably the progress on ???, I absolutely loved the old ???, and this one is a lot better.
​

Is there anything that you were hoping for from this update and got?

I was hoping to learn more history about the world, and there was a bit added. Also, a new hero, Siegfried, has been shown, and a few other tidbits here and there.
​

Are you excited for the main story of wynn and the answers it might have?

I am quite excited, I went and explored the prison that was added near Ternaves when it was first added. I tried theorizing on Bob for a while, and figured out how Nilrem could be his big brother.
​

Is there anything that you think should be expanded on to give a better explanation of the world of Wynn?

I'd like to see more on the Corruption and the Decay, how they spread, and what the ancients are like.
​

What’s your favorite theory that you’ve seen created by someone outside of The Grand Theorists?

I think my greatest theory made was not really a theory, I guess, more like a fact, where there was an inconsistency in the lore timeline. I spent probably 2 weeks trying to figure out how it would be logical, but it wasn't. I know Salted liked it.
​

Hm. Would you be able to elaborate more on that inconsistency?

Well, according to Sister City and Craftmas Chaos, Selchar was built 40 years ago, and was the inspiration for Detlas, even using Selchar's Hourglass' sand to fill up Detlas'. However, with weapon lore being added, "Detlas' Legacy", a wand, states that Detlas is 50 years old, at least. Which would be impossible if it's mother city inspiration city, Selchar is 40 years old.

The inconsistency actually got fixed in one of the first patches for the Gameplay Update, you should notice some changes to the dialogue of Sister City.

But aside from that, jpm's work on the lore is undeniable. Congrats!

 

Making/editing wiki pages ain't the only way someone can contribute. Simply the fact that he's compiled and organized as much information as he has is a contribution to the wiki in my eyes, even if he may have not posted it there directly.
