Force Unicode Font : On | 25eb > 25²½

JUST BEFORE READ : I am french, i don't have a very good english and i used sometimes translator so, if you don't understand something, i can maybe explain it by a other way. Just ask.


Okay, hello all, i am new on this server and i have just discover something 2 days ago with the gameplay update. i thought it was normal to see stranges symbols on every price but my friends told me they saw "EB" for Emeral Block and me "² ½".

As, you can see this key cost "4²½ but with the time i have understood it cost 4 EB and it was okay, i could play with it.
But recently with the new update, all they name dungeon got this "ÀÀÀÀÀÀ" between the words" for the spaces.

So i found the prob : In the langage settings, my Force Unicode Font was on "ON", and i had to put in on "OFF" for having "EB" and no more "ÀÀÀÀÀÀ".
But i really can't play with unicode on OFF, texte are so big and bold.

I think this problem should be known, i have already searched in the forum using tool "Search" but nothing about it :/
So if someone knows how i can play without "ÀÀÀÀÀÀ" and "²½" while maintaining Unicode on ON, it would be great.

That's due to the symbole for "EB" and "LE" being a unicode character which apparently equals the "1/2" sign.
I am sorry, but I doubt there's an easy solution except for making your own ressource pack to fix it

 

It isn't the french language he is using, it's because he enabled the force unicode option, and therefore it overrides the "EB" sign from the ressourcepack.

 

I am playing actually with English (US) langage for 3-4 years now ^^ So this is not this ^^

Hmm ok at the moment I'm not at home but I'll look at that as soon as I'm back and see if I can find a solution.

Btw @Ascended Kitten changing the language to something like Japanese is also the solution to be able to read all the &k stuff (the letter changing through symbols all the time so you can't read it) like on the relic paper things or the bobs sealed letter in that quest where you have to go from villager to villager in the thanos market.

 

I don't really think there is currently a solution for this as you redownload the resource pack everytime, so changing the pack wouldn't help.

Well so I tested it now and the only solution I got is that button where you can set unicode force off and you said you wont do that. I dont think there is another solution.
EDIT: I might have a solution for you but I'll go to bed now and check that tomorrow.

 

The font of Minecraft can be changed by using a resource pack which has got a different font, so to solve your problem, you can try using a resource pack whose font is smaller and thinner but not Unicoded.

 

No problemo, thanks for all the time u spend on this, i don't think it's something very boring for playing? Just the "ÀÀÀÀ" who are just a little annoying because there is no reason they are here ^^
