After a long time of waiting, it is pretty great to finally have an update to revive my interest in wynncraft again. In this thread, I will share my thoughts on the update I have experienced so far.

To start off with the worst of it, many other players have encountered many large, almost game-breaking bugs throughout this update. For a few examples, the boss in the Potion Making quest will not always spawn when you enter the arena, forcing you to switch servers constantly to find one that works properly. The Sand-Swept Tomb (Silverfish Dungeon), when I played it last night, was impossible to complete because Wave 2 would not spawn in the first room with the waves. Though I haven't played through any of the new high level quests yet, many players have claimed they have encountered bugs that greatly hinder the progression, and sometimes break these quests. Sure, some of those issues can be fixed by using /class or switching servers at the right moment, but doing that breaks the immersion and progression of the quest. I am also currently getting a ridiculous amount of lag while playing, but It's to be expected shortly after any major update. I hope the lag can be reduced in an upcoming patch.

Despite the issues, I do enjoy the other parts of the update. I'm really happy that powders were finally added back into the game, and it seems it can open a ton of potential for creative builds and strategies. I also really like the revamped Almuj and Rymek. For Almuj, it's now much easier to for me to alternate from the bank and the bazaar with the new opening, and that most merchants are now much closer together. For Rymek, it actually has a good use now. Before, it was a boring town that no one went to because of no useful merchants and those annoying donkeys. It is now very unique with the new merchants that sell some unique equipment that can actually be useful. The boss altars so far seem to be pretty cool. I have tried fighting the one in the Mesa with my level 40 Knight class, but I have still not beaten him. I will eventually though. I'm also incredibly happy that mobs can now use multiple spells, and that new mobs can spawn if a particular mob is defeated. The new high level quests also seem pretty cool aside from the many issues with them. I also have not tried any of the new dungeons except for the broken Silverfish Dungeon, but from what I've heard about the other ones, I think they'll be pretty awesome.

The content of the update itself is very enjoyable, and the content team did a job well done with it. However, this content has many issues that could have easily been fixed if the beta had lasted longer. I was also surprised that it had been released much earlier, since I saw many people reporting many bugs on the beta feedback page. It also brings another thing that I have to say to the community.

In terms of releasing updates, what do all of you want? Over the forums, I see many threads asking when an update is going to be out, or to release an update sooner when it is announced that it's going to be delayed. Yet, because of this pressure from the players, these updates are released earlier, resulting in them being unfinished and incredibly buggy. When these updates are released early, many players complain, especially the ones who have been begging for it, that they hate said updates. This is especially true for the Gavel Update, too. Many players of this community need to understand what they're actually begging for when harassing the admins and content team for an unfinished update to be released rather than delayed and further polished. I honestly would have liked Gavel a lot more if it were delayed a little longer with all the major bugs being patched, and it's the same for this update yesterday.

In conclusion, this update is definitely a great one in terms of content and new features, but I can't enjoy it at the moment due to the amount of bugs that could have easily been fixed in a longer beta. I hope you enjoyed reading this, and feel free to discuss down below.

Anyway, now that there has been a patch that fixed the game-breaking high-level quest bugs, I have played through some of the new quests (Canyon Guides, The Canary Calls, and The Hidden City). I actually enjoyed them quite a lot. I like the new mechanic of leading a mob NPC to a specific destination to continue a quest objective. It opens a lot of potential for different quests.

I didn't feel like mentioning it because it has already been discussed to death when the beta was in progress. It also really doesn't make a difference for me. I never go below 6 soul points, even before the update had hit.

Even with a beta, there will always be issues during release. For example, dungeons decided to break right before we released, while they were working relatively fine during beta. There's just always different issues appearing when you suddenly throw thousands of people at the game.
