Intelligence Skill Is Too Necessary

Whenever I try to make a build, I find myself putting way more points in Intelligence than I want to because that's the only way to have decent spells. You can make a build without any agility, any dexterity, any defense, or any strength without running into many problems. Yet, if you have no intelligence, every build turn into a Melee build because you're barely able to cast spells. Not to mention, all Mana regen accessories require intelligence to wear, with the exception of Concentration (expensive and rare) and Suppression (unusable because -mana steal), while armor is too important towards your build to sacrifice a piece just so you can have some mana. Lets take archer as an example because that's what I main. At full mana, I can cast 2 bomb arrows. Without any mana regen, it will take 4 seconds before I can cast another one, and another 8 seconds after that. A lot can happen in that time- especially because you can't sprint or cast any other spells at low mana. This has been made better with the addition of the sprint bar and powder specials, but that doesn't mean it's fixed. Another example from myself - I had to add 45 intelligence to my Ignis build to make spells even usable and to use a Squid anklet- meaning that I had less defense and less dexterity and Strength, the elements that I actually wanted to use.

i think the sprint bar fixed this problem somewhat because you can sprint for a while without losing mana

 

I agree.
I always put intelligence because I know it will be necessary endgame, and therefore I always focus my builds around intelligence. (LOL not really I always put full agility and then intelligence loloololo~)

 

This gets better when you do assassin....

The main problem with assassin is the fact that it drains mana INSANELY fast. One of the spells costs 10 mana if you don't invest anything in it. The main problem with this is there really isn't much (that I have seen) In the way of water daggers. And most of the weapons require pretty high Levels of the stats (Chakram, needs Lv 60 thunder, and its a lv 70 weapon). Not to mention a high agility is a MUST for the assassin.

 

get rainbow build where your defense is 130+ and every other skill is 50+
lol

 

So in my opinion you don't need more than 30 on intell for every build that isn't water based.

 

tbh that title can be applied to real life now

Just go melee, mana is now only a method to eacape or engage/pursue

 

That doesn't change that you can barely cast any spells and you are very weak without intel.

 

Grimtrap does 997.75 damage per second, and does an extra 200 damage per second with poison on average. How is that weak?

 

Spin attack-6 mana
Vanish- 2 mana
Multihit- 10 mana
Smoke bomb- 8 mana

Arrow storm- 6 mana
Escape-3 mana
Bomb arrow- 8 mana
Arrow shield- 10 mana.

Umm. Why do people complain about assassin cost when archer is higher ??

 

Actually they are almost the same, swap those stats around a bit. (The order)

Spin Attack 6 - Arrow Storm 6
Vanish 2 - Escape 3
Smoke Bomb 8- Arrow Bomb 8
Multihit 10 - Arrow Shield 10

Assassin and Archer are practically the same besides that 1 mana difference. However mana constantly drains while invisible if I under stand whatever I heard before.

 

That is since escape throws you back once , while vanish constantly protects you from mobs.

 

and you don't usually spam sheild lol
