A Brief Overview About Corkus And What's Going On...

Look everyone.

There are some mixed emotions going on right now, and I feel the need to rant about it, and explain to everyone.

Let's start with what @Tantibus and what he said about it today.

Summed up, Corkus was real, but Tantibus created it the meme, even though it was intended as a real province.


What really ticks me off, is that as soon as he releases the fact it is actually real, all these "Non-Believers" decide to go into anger mode, because if they hadn't noticed, the Corkus Changelog was the prank, though Tantibus was confirming the "Non-Meme" Corkus.

This also means that now that this new update is out, Corkus is being proven to be real, setting off a lot of people who thought it was a joke. It is a joke, made by Tantibus, but it was intended as a real thing. This lore was made far before the update changelog was created, and the meme started.

Please stop arguing about this. It doesn't matter, it was just a meme, go with the joke, it's nobody's fault, and some people out there should just get over it.

The reason these "non-believers" got so angry was probably because Corkus was everywhere. People constantly talked about it all the time and joked about it to get likes. Honestly that was starting to annoy me a bit too. I didn't really have anything against the thread though, it just got out of hand but now it seems better.

The reason I honestly hated the Corkus prank has less to do with the prank itself and more to do with the aggressive trolling of newer players who were legitimately confused by it.

 

That's true, though I feel like the new players should of at least felt like it was stupid enough of an idea to not actually exist...

 

Sorry for sidetracking (and I know its been said before), but this confirms Fruma and Corkus as the other two provinces.
What makes me say this is a certain NPC in Eltom who brags about pie that is "the best in the four provinces", meaning that there are only a total of 4 provinces (for now). With enough hints to confirm Fruma, and Corkus being confirmed by Tanti himself, we can assume that Dern will be a realm, like the Realm of Light, or Death's Realm.

Shit this is just a random idea but what if he lore follows exactly. Like where the UK broke off. What if one of the provinces broke off from something, causing some random thing in the lore

-we know that Corkus was created by seperatists, just like how Jamestown in the US was founded by Pilgrims escaping religius persecution
-similarly, Wynn seems to have been created by people running from the monarchy-based system of government (US revolution, anyone?)
