    As you may have noticed, there is a mysterious hopper in the Llevigar Library. Some people have tried using the "Wealth or Knowledge" book on the hopper but to no avail. However, this was actually the correct solution. The redstone is broken. What happened was that between the last beta update and the actual release, the item detector was used during lag and broke. I have already fixed it, but it is waiting until the next map push. Please remain patient until then, and hold onto your Wealth or Knowledge book while you wait.

    so, when is the next map push? today? tomorrow? soon TM? whatever time zone salted is in that means soon = on the brink of never, and a area around a date = "QUICK RELEASE THE UPDATE!" ?

    The item was made untradable so that you could throw it, so sadly that doesn't work. If there were a way to do this with a quest item I would have done it but sadly we could not.
