The ??? Community Event​

With the new gameplay update we redid and improved a lot of old content, including a few older quests. However, there was one quest in particular that got a very different kind of rework; ???.
We invested a lot of time into reworking this quest and we are proud to say, it’s the most evil, unfair and secretive quest you will ever play!


General Information
First of all, ??? is no longer a secret quest. It is now a community event, meaning you are allowed (and should) share anything you find with other players. You may also talk about the old ??? quest and everything connected to it (although the new quest has no connections to the old solution).

Your goal is to solve this event as a community. We strongly suggest sharing anything you find or all your theories by posting threads in this section, which will make it easier for everybody to find certain posts.

We have already seen how good you are with solving mysteries and finding secrets when you work together, so we decided to challenge you with this “Riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma”. Hopefully, this time you won’t find it in a week.
We hope this community event will take you guys at least a little while to solve.

The ??? quest can take place anywhere in the map, so you should look everywhere.
We will only provide you with this first hint to start you off.

Disclaimer:
Every Moderator/Content Team Member/Trial with access to the build server is banned from participating in the hunt for ???. We want to be sure it’ll stay top secret until it’s fully solved. At this moment, only 5 people know how to do it and it should stay like that until you solve it.

Once the community has solved the quest - the FULL solution will be made available on the Wynn wiki and on the forum. We don’t expect everyone to go through what you are about to tackle.


Questions and Answers
Q: Can we talk about the old ??? quest now?
A: Yes, you can.

Q: Will we keep our old rewards?
A: Yes. You won’t lose any XP you got from the old quest, and you'll keep the necklace you got - but you’ll have to finish the new ??? quest to use it!

Q: Can we still get the necklace reward?
A: We will not spoil the rewards for the new quest.

Q: What happens when we finish ??? and have a full solution?
A: You will be able to make threads and videos explaining how to finish ???. The quest itself is not going to change.

Q: This isn’t a quest!
A: That isn’t a question! Using the quest system for ??? allowed us to do stuff like giving you an xp-reward. You shouldn’t think of it as a quest. It’s a fun community game.

The entire quest concept was created by Grian , Lotem and Tantibus,
with some additional help from Shtafjord, Energyxxer and Headset_O.

A lot of time went into this event so give those guys a lot of love, especially for the first three.

Using any sort of hack/mod/resourcepack to help you with the hunt will result in a permanent ban. We have spent months on this quest and this is not what we wanted to see.
You can use this section to plan ??? parties.

 

There are a lot of secrets this update, but none as great as the new ??? quest. This is our Cipher Hunt, our Sombra. This is our mindgame that shall implode your brains. This is a mystery wrapped in a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in another mystery wrapped in a riddle wrapped in an enigma, and that inception goes on about 100 more times. Your mind shall be mush before you guys even make any significant progress. There is no fair game design in the new ???. This is a torture chamber for your mind and if you choose to willingly enter then there is no way out. These three question marks shall take you to the brink of insanity and you will regret ever trying to solve this.

Moin there, my name is Headset_O and I helped a bit with ???. My role was to make this quest even worse by adding my wonderful evil ideas into the discussion and then make them even more terrible with the inputs from others. You can officially blame me for the hardest part of the hunt. Have fun!
