    I've gotten to the guy, right outside his door. But, I CANT GET IN.
    Yes, its nighttime.
    So what do I do

    Is the moon closer to the middle of the sky?

    But since you're a Mage you can tp on one of the balconies and skip half of the quest..

    Theres a ladder in one of the rooms that leads to that guy.
