Reaction/Discussion Are There Hoards?

I've noticed that very rarely there will be a massive amount of mobs in an area that are not normally there and I don't think it was done by a player.



Note I did not lead these mobs here either.

 

I believe those are called

Anime Conventions

Minecon Conventions

"Omg a wild Charizard"

 

Well in the new update when one mob is killed a few more can spawn OR in the update there are swarms again

 

So basically....

Splash attacks gone wrong

 

This is not a swarm (they are much different) and only a few mobs spawn in others when killed.

 

The spiders are normal but those zombies....

 

"Hoards" are not a feature as far as the changeblogs tell us, and this definitely isn't a swarm.

It could be a spawning glitch, or perhaps as joshtafel says.

 

that's why you never walk on the trail, when people ride or run on the main road all the monsters follow them but the player is too fast so they just hang around on the road.

 

Yes, several potato hoards can be found across the province.

 

mobs do despawn though, which again is odd as to why these wouldn't have

 

Because it's the beta server everyone is lower leveled so they will be around that area more thus keeping the chunks loaded.

 

well I will try to see if this happens elsewhere

 

Probably gonna happen only in the forest to support Yuno's claim, has pretty solid backing since I have been someone to ride along on the path with a speed demon horse.
