IMPORTANT EDIT: The S.S.V Seaskipper is now reportedly working perfectly, hopefully we are coming to the end of the beta as the majority of the bugs have been fixed in the latest BETA patch.

So there are some pretty wacky glitches with this update and I am curious to see where the community stands with one of the bigger issues, the SS Seaskipper. Lets pretend it was possible to release it today or tomorrow with out the sea skipper. Alot of people are saying either they would rather have the update today or tomorrow with out it, then obviously having a follow up patch that puts in the seaskipper and fixes some extra bugs. or that they would rather just wait a week delay the entire update and then have it all come out at the same time.
Since the Seaskipper is more of a luxury item more so then a "must have" type of feature it is possible to release the update with out it, of course adding it back when fixed from its current status.
I think this is a really controversial topic but hey at least it gets the community thinking and being active with their feed back on the current situation.

I tryed them out today morning (I am living in europe) and everything was fine. I took multiple ways, for sure more then 9 boat trips

and to be serious: dungeons and seaskippers are the most awsome Things in this update (at least for me)

 

Well you had the luxury of being in the beta just think if they delayed it 90% of us would have nothing to do while you have fun, that doesn't sound to great imo. Also I really hope it is working again then this whole thing can be cleared us asap ;D

 

There is just too many bugs and untested things (mainly higher level quests are just starting to be tested by a select few) that it cant come out now.

Honestly since seaskipper passes cost around 20e and boats cost 2eb it matters a lot for new players, but eh. go ahead.

 

I did read it, and I get what you mean. But boats cost 2 eb now and dont even work the right way they should, I'd rather have the Sea Skipper right now.

 

Hell if it comes out today or tomorrow I''ll buy you some new shiny boats myself!

I could buy all the shiny boats I'd need, but then we'll have to deal with low level assassins complaining about how it takes them longer to swim then other classes on the forums. If they returned boats back to 4e then I'd gladly wait for the Sea Skipper and get the update now.

Yup, they are SUPPOSED to re-enter your inventory when you leave them (making them pretty much permanent) but they don't so its kinda a waste.
Also you can still find old boat merchants that sell them for 4e around too.

Boats are just broken in the beta.

 

Well if they are permanent that explains the 2eb and will make life easy for noobs once they have a working one ;D . But damn rip the ocean atm, also boats are kinda broken right now anyway, I mean have you seen the glitch where you hop out and teleport backwards like 100 blocks from where your boat was. We don't need a beta to break boats, boats already break themselves LOL

 

Yup, life is going to be so much easier with the new boats once they work.

 

So if I just use the boat I have in my bank I'll never have to buy one for 2eb? :D

 

I'm actually not sure... well, off to get a boat before the update!

 

I honestly think we should wait a tiny bit longer, as a lot of things are still very buggy/laggy. Not just the VSS Seaskipper, (I don't care if we release with or without it), but Swarms are extremely laggy still, and a few dungeons haven't even been tested yet so we don't know if they work as intended or not yet. I'm all for having the update released, but I think a few more things should be fixed/tested first.

 

I'm stuck in a room of barriers in Recipe for Disaster, help!
