Reaction/Discussion Seaskipper

So in the new update, the V.S.S. Seaskipper is now a thing. Allowing you to travel to different places with a cost of a boat pass sold by a merchant next to the boat. The cost for a boat pass averages around 32 emeralds, making it quite easy for low levels to get to higher level places.
then again, the price for each boat pass could change after the beta.

After using your boat pass, you get some cut scene with the Seaskipper Captain. He talks about random stuff like Zhight Island and catching fish, and at the end of each cut scene, he gives you a item relating to the cut scene. It's quite unique to see someone talk to you while you're traveling to your destination and then giving you an item.

What are your thoughts on the seaskipper? Personally, I think it's slightly overpowered with the cost of each boat pass. But the charm of the Seaskipper captain talking to you is a really unique touch to the game.

What are the items you get from cutscenes?

 

Of what I know, it seems anywhere around the oceans including the islands like dead island, rooster island, half moon island, selchar, etc.

I was able to get 3 seeds once, and during the fishing cutscene, I got 1 fish. Though, sometimes you won't get the items even though the chat says "[+1 raw fish]".

 

Can it sail to Gavel?

Yep, it can also sail out to the ocean cove where the level 90 quest is at.

 

Do the costs scale with the distance of places or their levels?

 

Of what I was able to get, it varies on level.

This isn't entirely accurate. Sometimes you won't get an item. There's a lot of different things that can happen on the boat, you'll see.

Imagine theres like a 1% chance that you have the chance to fight a kraken mini boss that gives xp and emeralds varying on lvl, I would enjoy this.

 

What happens on the boat, stays on the boat.

 

And gets posted on the forums.

 

It sounds like a cool idea!


But all I think about when I hear Sea Skipper is this.

From Nemract, it can go to Zhight, Nodguj, Mage Island, Half Moon Island, Rooster Island, Llevigar, and Selchar

It varies more based on distance between the two places.
