A Message Regarding The Community.

Hello everyone!

Today's message is a little more somber than usual. There has been a little bit of tension recently within the community, and frankly - it has to stop.

There seems to be a lot of rumours and lies spreading throughout the forum about toxicity levels and community standing with the staff. While I am not inclined to agree with these people (I personally believe the unsettled nature of the forums is more due to lack of new content, rather than spontaneous toxicity) I have none the less heard the voice of the forums.

One of the main concerns seems to be the lack of clarification surrounding the roles of the moderators. So, to put that to rest I've put together a little document that just explains how it all works.

However I must stress in this thread that all of the arguments, flaming, baiting and all other kinds of community toxicity needs to cease. Whether its in game or in the shoutbox, we don't want to see this awesome community fall into petty squabbles. If you are having a problem with someone or something they wrote, use the report feature or tell a moderator.

I also want to clarify that people say there is a lack of communication between admins and the community, to that I say this: Our forum posts have been fairly consistent throughout the years. We rarely intervene and let the community get on with it. We focus mainly on producing content so the game can stay alive. We delegate the power of maintaining the community to the moderators; who I'm afraid to say, haven't been treated too well.

Basically, let's all be friends guys and stop the petty fighting. We've got a cool update soon that will make the game feel really fun to play, and I hope we can all enjoy it together.

I want to say something good but it will be really corny, I want to say something funny but that will seem immature, so I'm just gonna say this sentence.

I have a feeling I'm part of the reason Grian typed this since I've been starting a few arguments lately.... Of course with no ill intents which people took notice later on. Definitely agree though and I hereby apologize to any of the others that did not fully understand my standpoints and may have been offended by what I've said.

Most of the hate towards moderators (that I've seen) are usually low leveled. Chances are, they don't have a forums account, or check the Wynncraft forums at all.

 

There have been some pretty major mod flames as of late.

Those are just victims of CS:GO, the salt contained in them is to much to handle, so they take it out on staff.

Should add into there to make use of the ignore feature on the forums to avoid someone who is annoying you

 

Personally I haven't noticed toxicity especially compared to other servers and games, maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, but I guess if an admin has to come out and talk about it, then it's an issue. People need to just stop, it's a game, it's the internet, don't take things way too seriously, and get over it. Adding more drama to any situation is unnecessary and in the end, it can make you look like the bad guy.
