I believe Wynncraft should make a book about all the lore of Wynncraft and try and convert it into a fun, action-packed story. It could involve stuff like the Dogun War to the story of the Decay. Please tell me what you think about this idea?

I believe Grian made a thread about Wynncraft Merch, and whether or not it would be well received. Needless to say, it will be.

No need for a book, the lore in-game and on the forums (mostly pre-7/9 though) will be expanded upon as time goes on. Also, making a book/movie out of a game is a horrible idea as a game takes advantage of the user being able to interact with the world and everything is designed around that, while a book is a linear, hard-coded (so to speak) story. And a book about the lore would be a waste of time because, as I said earlier, the in-game and forum lore do exactly what the book would.

What if the book described the life of a character (like Bob) in greater detail and turned him into a much more relatable character? If told from his perspective in a first-person POV, it could make for a very interesting storyline. It would also finally shut up a lot of theorists who can do no more than speculate on his backstory. I, for one, would actually love to write such a story. I've found I'm relatively good at being the DM in roleplays, and I think the skills would transfer to some extent.

As for @eeveelution 's point posted above; Yes, many videogame-based-movies have failed for this exact reason. The movies either
A- retell the exact storyline that the player can go through in the game, which makes it feel like the creators are saying "If you didn't do what our movie character did, you played the game wrong" and leaves the viewer of the film dissappointed, OR
B- completely reinvents the characters and/or the storyline around them in an attempt to separate the movies from the games they come from to avoid the above problem, but in doing so they alienate the gaming community for ruining the connection to the games they play.

This book, on the other hand, would tell the story from the point of view of a person you hardly ever interact with ingame, and already has their own set-in-stone storyline that would not force a player to feel like they've given up their free will. The player never has the ability to play as Bob, so the book writers would have no trouble with Problem A. Problem B is handled by the fact that the lore of Bob is already in game and is therefore already connected to Wynn's storyline and lore. This book would only deepen and expand upon the lore, clarifying ambiguities, and filling in plot holes while giving Bob a more 3-dimensional character beyond the "master warrior who sacrificed himself to save the world" cookie cutter character archetype. It could describe personal traumas of losing his mother, the trials he went through in mastering the 4 classes, and his final decision to give his own life for the province he loves and has guarded for decades.

This could be a really good book if executed well...

Great idea. I say go to the lore writer (Grian, I think) about this... Who knows, they might notice you...
