Wynncraft Chat Mechanics?

    I am still somewhat new here but it seems like when I enter Detlas or some other popular city I always hear people talk (by talk I mean chat), but as I get away from the city it seems to stop. So does the Wynncraft chat not follow Vanilla Minecraft mechanics (or am I terribly wrong about vanilla mechanics)? This was a question that popped into my head when I was playing like, 2 days ago.

    In Wynncraft, there is "local chat" which means that only people within a certain radius will be able to read your messages.

    You can only get messages from people in a certain block radius, unless its a shout.
