Media My Thoughts On Yt Xp

The hot topic right now is YT xp and I wanted to share my thoughts on it. In my opinion it definitely has its perks but a lot of players see it as unfair because the youtubers can climb to the top of the leaderboard in a matter of days, and I'm not exaggerating. It is possible to get to get level 100 not just on one caracter, but on two in, one day. I got level 100 in 5 hours, meaning that if you really wanted to, you could do two caracters in around 10 hours. The positive thing about this is that people like me can create guides for high level quests without having to grind for weeks.

But I've noticed that it's damaging my 1-100 series, in which I level a mage from level 1 to 100. Now that I'm no longer a mod I get the benefits of YT rank, which is mainly the xp bonus. I level way to fast and I'm afraid the series will end way sooner than I wanted ít to.

You can clearly see that the xp is both helping and ruining content for me. Obviously it's fun to level from level 71 to 88 with one quest (Wynn D with the right gear etc.) but what's the fun in having 75% of the quests left when you're at level 100? And don't say "you could get 101" because the quests I have left are all low leveled ones that won't help me what so ever.

I decided to quote this because @-=SpringVibes=- proves a very good point. We, the youtubers, are the ones who show people who haven't tried it yet what wynncraft is. People don't want boring, grindy and repetetive. But this also makes wynncraft seem like something it isn't. I was able to reach level 100 without actually grinding. Ofc. I had to kill some mobs, 76 to be exact, but I wouldn't consider that grinding. Also, I only had to complete 24/101 quests. And that is, excuse my language, fucked up. This isn't fun for a normal let's play. Sure it can be useful if you want to test builds on maxed out characters, but like I said, for a let's play it's just boring and broken.

My suggestion is that a toggle is added. So that youtubers can choose if they want the txp or not. This way normal let's plays can be created without making wynncraft seem like something it isn't. Youtubers can also level up super fast if they want, to make build guides, quest guides, and sharing knowledge about the later phases of the game.

But wouldn't YTrs just keep it toggled on? I always wish you could just keep /hide toggled on.

My solution has always been to add the YT server back in and give that txp.

 

I hope the to lower the 3xp so that you couldn't level up faster then expected.
But great thought though and so true.

 

I thought there was a way to turn it on/off already. And yeah, it's shame people still think that "x3 xp for ytbers is bad bruh". Your point is the right one in my opinion, especially since you're bothering yourself making videos and trying your best to get Wynncraft more popular. Can't count the amount of times your videos helped me do a quest where I was blocked :)

 

You would also need a trail of people to kill bosses for you and have then throw xp bombs every now and then as well as get some gear in advance, but yes.

 

I think a toggle is a great idea! It could allow YouTubers who want to play without recording to get the vanilla experience, and it could be toggled when making videos to make Wynncraft seem closer to what it is (So players don't think the big quests give you 10 levels) and toggled on when grinding is needed.

 

I thought you had to ask for the 3 xp boost didn't know it came already implemented with the rank....

Triple XP should either become Double XP, or stay as it is but only for mob kills and not for quests.

 

i dont really understand why they get triple xp? they deserve the /hide and all but triple xp? what in being a youtuber makes you need triple xp? honestly i just think its given to youtubers because the dev teams dont want them to quit as they bring more people into the server but overall its a pretty bs and unfair
and ye they do need to make the game look more fun and grindless but you can get lvl 100 with quests left over with triple xp so with it its just insane

 

Dont think the other one is actually possible. Unless salted added ANOTHER xp system

The dev team dont want people to see that there is a shitload of grinding in the game that would make most people quit before playing

Ok, good point. False expectations are definitely a problem. On the other hand, salted has said on multiple occasions that they are working on making grinding completely unnecessary

I really dont want the toggle because it's probably just gonna take some coding which I'd rather have put into more important matters cough item locks

 

But actually, if the YouTubers have done all this work on the server I think they should have the txp. Though bringing in to consideration what Seb said, yes, a toggle should be put on the txp. (For the YouTubers who want it)
