Glitch Causes Disaster!

He probably didn't use cactus build because he's a good player and doesn't want to use glitches or he's poor.

 

I'm pretty sure Cactus is a legitimate build to use. It's an AFK build that's abusing a glitch.

 

How else would I get mods attention to fix this?

 

You can't. There will always be dicks who will construct PMI's, you died, deal with it.

You just said abusing glitches is legitimate. Really? Glitches are unintentional, and not supposed to be a part of the game. They often disrupt or destroy balancing.

To caveat that though, there is a saying that if a given bug survives X many updates, it can be considered a feature.

Seeing as how the bug has only been around as long as Gavel has been out, this caveat does not currently apply, but it might in the future if the bug persists.

To caveat that statement, though, Salted himself said that it was to be considered a bug and that it would be squashed in the next update.

Well cant cactus just be classified as a build with a lot of thorns and reflec? The actual glitch was a prblem with life steal activating on thorns(right?), this was classified as an afk build.

 

So using Thorns and Reflection as they were intended is a bug? If you didn't know, I was referring to Life Steal activating upon Thorns damage dealt to foes, allowing people with high Life Steal and Thorns to AFK grind mobs for free XP.

 

I'd rather lose 20 mythics than become a cactus.

Except that the term cactus build is often used as a name for the infamous bug that uses a bug in which lifesteal activates with thorns/reflection.

Yes, unfortunately the term "cactus build" is tainted by AFK grinding which has caused everyone to think that a "cactus build" is the AFK grinding build everyone hates, not a build that uses thorns/reflection the way they were intended without the lifesteal bug.

 

even without the life steal thingy I hate cactuses, it doesn't make any sense to me, reflection makes no sense whatsoever and thorns makes sense only towards melee but only if it does a tiny bit of damage.

 

Then again, try punching a rose bush with a bunch of those sticker balls dumped into the bush. Thorns hurt if there are enough of them xD

Do you understand analogies? Ugh... The thorns on the opponents armor are not itty bitty ridges in the armor, they are likely larger and sharp enough and hard enough to dent or punch holes in the armor of the attacker. We could also go for the idea that it is not literal thorns and that there is magic at work here that causes attackers to feel a degree of empathy-pain from their opponent, physically harming them as a sort of recoil damage.

As for why reflection damages users of ranged attacks, I cannot think of any single form of real-life reflection that could counter arrows, magical bolts, and meteors aside from literal wormholes. Now, seeing as how portals do exist in Wynncraft, a smaller and simpler application of this magic to armor is not unreasonable.

To call it "Reflection" would be a bit of a misnomer though, unless the armor itself was like a polished mirror that could magically absorb an incoming attack. The surface of the armor, in reality, would actually be a disguised wormhole to another dimension where space is warped and odd, and the projectile's trajectory could be changed. After the attack's direction had favorably been edited by the alternate dimension, it would continue by crossing back through the wormhole-armor into our world, now directed at the attacker.

 

thorns work because there is a lot of pressure on a little surface point, bigger thorns don't mean more damage. also the normal attack is reflected by thorns, mages and archers normal attack is a ranged one.

but why have it only damage the enemy when they attack? why not damage them all of the time?

but when someone reflects a spell they also take the damage so its not really reflection.
