I recommend Starbound. It's a great, 2D platformer thats pretty much like Terraria. Quests, a universe, planets to explore; it's a great game overall.

Hmm... well, how about Don't Starve? It's a survival game, if you like those.

It's really fun, Markiplier did a playthrough if you want a rundown of the plot/general atmosphere before you buy.

If you like thrillers, the Metro series. If you like general shooters, Wolfenstein(Possibly 18+,but would say it's 16+).

A good choice for everyone is CS:GO, its cheap as chips and for the most part you can be sure to get a lot of playtime.

Also as for your wishlist, definitely get Witcher 3 along with its DLCs. I am only on my second play through which I havn't even finished the main quest yet and I have 205 hours on it. The story is very good and the general gameplay of it is also amazing.

    Minecraft:
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, just to get used to how the Dark Souls series works and that you won't be raped by the tutorial. It's on sale for 75% off a lot, so it's a great deal for the gameplay given.
I Am Bread, it looks dumb but it actually requires strategy and good hand-eye coordination, so try it once it's on sale.
No Man's Sky (Not out yet), everything Spore should have been and more.
Who's Your Daddy, again, it looks simple but requires strategy to win.
On a side note, wait until Fo4 is on sale or something to get the season pass with it (Far Harbor, Automatron, and Wasteland Workshop were great. Contraptions was straight-up awful, and the other 2 aren't out as of this post).

Well, it's similar in the whole "Explore the universe you will never fully explore" aspect.

Roguelands (A sci-fi/fantasy roguelike for $10, great game.)
Brawlhalla (A 2D fighting game with pretty interesting mechanics, also it's free.)
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare (Although the game needs desperate balancing changes, it's a great medieval war game for $25.)
Oblivion (The game before Skyrim in the Elder Scrolls series, it has a lot more depth to it's world and npcs than Skyrim does. The GOTY edition is $15.) *Waits for Skyrim fans to post hate towards this post.*
Unturned (Basically a zombie survival game that can run on a potato.)

That's about it for what I can think of off the top of my head.

Who's Your Daddy - Just grab a fork and get to the power outlet. No strategy required there. Not a bad game tho.

Get The Ultimate Doom, I'm telling ya, it's one of the best/the best first person shooters out there.
And it'll make you regret buying cod instantly.
It also has a kickass soundtrack.
And requires only having windows on your pc.
All that, for just 10 dollars.
Get Doom II, I'm telling ya, it's one of the best/the best first person shooters out there.

Get every game ID software made in the 90's, I'm telling ya, they make great games.
