Help With Mage

Hi guys I picked up wynncraft again recently after a long hiatus the begun before the gavel update was officially announced. I started a new character since the limitations for using items has changed. I how ever now need some help with this new wynncraft, I am currently unable to even pass the lvl 8 underwater quest as my mage keep on getting killed by lvl 8 pigmen. I am unable to enter the pigmen cave beyond a few steps as the blazes and manpig kills me near instantaneously without cover. I do not remeber pigmen cave being this difficult in the original. I'm wonder if I actually screwed up my skill set or if I just need better equipment. this is my current setup.

 

Those mobs are just overpowered as hell currently

You could ask a higher-levelled player in detlas for help.

 

welp I guess that answers my question on why I'm still being slaughtered by them at lvl 18. I do have to add that the normal pigmens are no joke for me right now too, I find that I get swarmed by them sometimes though it might be the blazes and manpig doing most of the damage. Anyways I guess I'll go do something else for a while then. I still do want ask for some ideas on where to progress my mage though. Currently I have a vague idea of going for a mana heavy setup as can be seen by the strong investment in intelligence but beyond that I have no plans.
