before the name " Pokemon " it was called the first called "Capsule Monsters "( not pocket monsters , it actually a second name ) There were early sketches of Rhydon.

I know Rhydon was the first ever conceived pokemon. What I meant was that Bulbasaur is the first pokemon in the pokedex, and possibly the first documented pokemon in the canon series.
