I Think Gavel Update Broke The Gameplay On This Server

Hello there
I played on this server a lot of time with my friend, even before gavel update released.
It was amazing, everything was clearly shown to a player, what to do, how to do it and where you do it
I played warrior first to lev 30, but I switched to mage, now I'm 65 lev.
There were no weaknesses and resistances on enemies, no undentified items so you could use them instanly and dont pay extra cash just to discover they were absolute sh*t to use in battle.
I think GAVEL update broke this server, but people just dont notice that.
I am a mage now, and I want to get my level up and use ETHEREAL- the legendary wand, and even if this is the 2nd best wand to use, I still cant one-shot the enemies that I used to one-shot before the update.
On some wands I need to lev up my strenght and dexterity skills to use them, but WHY would I do that? Mage is for shooting meteors and heal people near him, so whats the point in going battle mage.

Before Gavel was released, armor and weapons were restrained to level cap only, now I can't even put my armor back on my character because I need to lev up my freaking defense skill on mage.
Please, repair something in next update, I would appreciate that

Gavel made wynncraft more interesting. If you would rather have a game where there is a definite best and money doesnt matter after you get your 6 pieces of endgame (Blue Mask, Adamantite, Crystal, Stalagmites, Bobs, White Horse), play a different server.

Mind telling me what MMO you played beside wynncraft?

Can we get to the subject of this post which is gavel, not wands

 

Not exactly true because if you get a good Pure mythic it is better than Bobs mythic wand

 

Have you ever played an MMO game? It's not about being able to kill literally everything you see in one-shot with the default attack, is it? No. It isn't.
Now that Gavel has been released, the game seems as if it actually requires more skill to be able to play it. Enemies have elemental defenses, so to take them out with ease you have to use a weapon with attack damage of that element, instead of: once again, one-shotting everything you see.

If you're just gonna complain about how you're not the most op player on the server: please just leave.

 

If you hate the new update, why do you play wynncraft? Stick to regular MC survival, where getting diamond stuff means beating the game.

You might be true, but when the enemy is 20 lev under your level, why he is so strong for me :c
Just like Pokemon, when you have a lev 40 charizard, you have to one shot a 10 lev squirtle, even if this isn't effective

Okay. It seems that people have told you it's different, just not how.
The weapon's damage only matters if you're an earth user. If you're a Mage, forget all about damage or defense and use whatever you can to boost spell and water damage and defenses.
So there's no second best wand and Bob's Mythics definitely aren't the best choice for them. Some people even use Ethereal over Bob's Mythic Wand.
So throw away anything you remembered about the old item system because that's not going to do jack here, and look more at the complete items and all it's identifications, because those will really make or break you- Not the damage it deals, not the health it gives you, just all the identifications. Since you're a Mage, go Water items. They boost spell damage.

 

About Pokemon > no shit.
About the mob > It's strong because you're not using a. a good weapon b. you're hitting it with your default attack way too much c. your weapon doesn't have the correct elemental dmg to do good enough dmg

Well depending on which build you are going for Ethereal can be the 2nd best wand for a mage.
Just thought i'd let ya know.

And for the thread:

This new item system is really good in my opinion, now you don't have to go full on water to be a good mage, you can go full thunder if you like.
This makes classes alot different.
For example: Water warrior, Earth archers, Fire assassins etc etc.
This is what gives wynncraft replay value (or whatever u wanna call it) since you can go with so many different builds that all does different things.

 

I'm sorry, but Gavel didn't ruin anything. Unidentified items CAN be a little annoying but what is better: One identify to get all stats; or having to pay LE to get all? With elements your missing the point. Wynn isn't a 'one-shot everything because you find that fun for some reason' simulator, its an MMO. Elements add a bit more strategy to the game. And as of Ethreal being the 2nd best wand? Your forgetting they made the level cap 100, and added Mythics to the game.

And like @Madsi6 said, the elements give replay value. Why go for just fire/earth warrior? I went for a thunder/water etc. If you want to beat enemies, make a build and do this new thing called 'spells' they may be new, but anyone can use them. /s

 

Maybe the issue is that mage has the weakest damage in the entire game...

 

u serious bruh. meteor can like 5 hit bosses if ya get enough spell damage gear.
mage is the most op class to me, yes it sucks at the first few levels without damage spells but its op


And if ya hate gavel, that means you hate mmorpg. Before gavel it was fairly simple and easy to beat the game and wasnt a challenge. Now Wynncraft created a challenge to reach a high level so its not like: get on the server, grind, then reach max level.

 

He means basic attack damage.
