As the title says, I am concerned about players on wynncraft and the forums, there will be no TL;DR's. With that said, lets jump right into it.

    Forums
I have been playing wynn since 2014, and at that time, I loved the server, its pretty obvious why. The builds, the quests, it was an amazing server. I decided to join the forums, It was thread filled and very active. It has kept that up for a bit.......
Trade market as I remembered it was one reply after another, bang bang, items were sold. Now threads have been there for 2-3 minutes before someone replies. Which in my opinion means that less people are on it.

Now you might be thinking, "but what if they haven't found out about the forums?" Well how did everyone else get here? I might not know the answer to either of those but that's a question for later.

My point is, wynncraft is losing popularity, less forum people and less server people, which is what i'm getting into.

    Server
This part is about the server itself. Besides forum people decreasing, server people are also decreasing. If I remember correctly, the server used to have some 7000 people at a time (if its not that then this thread is useless) but now its 1-2k, 3k if your lucky (might not be right either). People quit, weather its outside things or that wynncraft just isn't fun to them anymore.

I loved the simplicity of 2014 wynncraft (not saying I don't like the new update), but right now wynncraft should continue on its path. For all of you that managed to watch igbars video about how there should be no quest level requirement, I agreed with him. Like he said, if people are not ready or feel like that they can't take on the quest yet, they will grind to get equipment. I HATE grinding, I hit lv 84, only to find that the next quest is a level away, again your probably thinking "the follow up update will add more quests". But if igbars idea was installed, I wouldn't have to wait for Soontm follow up update. Grinding is boring for some, but fun for some. My take on grinding is that I don't want to sit around clicking the whole day.

Some might agree with me, some might hate me. Leave your feedback below, tell me what your thought is.

Wynn was like 4k, tops. We're still going strong.

As far as the levels, that not gonna be changed, but if you complain and complain about the issue of updates not being released to fill the level gaps, it'll make another unfinished update.

Well there hasn't been an update in what, 5 months? Because of this I'm not surprised that it's 300-1.2k players. Besides people have exams and testing and all of that stuff so we can't all play.

Also I personally don't think no quest reqs. is a good idea. Grinding isn't that hard in 80-90 range, and back in the olden days we had no quests at all!

TL;DR Trade Market threads take longer than before to get replies, and there seem to be less players on.

    My response to this is:

You're definitely watching the wrong threads, and you're probably thinking of a summer ago when several Youtubers played on Wynn for a short time, creating a boost that has lasted until today.

The average amount on a weekend is 2k+, which is still very good. With the summer coming up, it's like player amounts will spike even more, especially since the Follow-Update may be coming soon™

Or, you know, people actually have lives, and other games to play.
There's always the element of waiting. As a WoW player myself, I can say that there will always be a decline in popularity before a major patch comes out, or a new addon. Especially if you have to wait for 7-9 months until a new expansion comes out.
There is no content -> people get bored -> they leave -> time passes-> new content comes out -> the content gets old -> there is no content. Rinse and repeat.

about the trade market, its the complete opposite, so many people joined the server and want to sell their stuff that there isn't enough buyers for all of them.
and about the server I joined in October 2014 and have no memory of 7000 people on the server at once.
    ________________________________
but removing quest level requirement will only be a temporary solution, thecontent team's plan is to make so many quests that will require a minimal amount of grinding between them, minimal enough that it will be achievable through exploring the map. removing the quest level requirement will ruin this.

I've just leveled a 88 mage doing ONLY quests, and still have 10 to do.
Guess what... my gear is awful!
As I didn't grind, I didn't loot either. Now I'm grinding with 100% guild xp just because I need better stuff (and I'd like the guild to be higher level, I'll go 50% soon to level a bit too).

For the trade market, I created the thread and then bumped it the next day. Each time there was already around 10 threads above mine in less than 30 minutes, so no wonder nobody sees mine as it disapears too quickly, there's too much people selling!
Do you think people might buy less because they save stacks of LE for a mythic?

Yes alot of people are leaving the server including me. However this is not forever. The one thing Wynncraft is really bad at is releasing updates (Im not talking about the quality of the updates). Ill give you an example.

Before the Gavel update one of the things I was most hyped for was the new powder system. After the update it became clear really fast that the new powders were not released. (Not saying that I dont understand programming takes time hear me out.) Now I remember hearing shortly after the update about the upcomming "small" updates that would be released in the upcomming weeks that would fill the quest gap at higher levels and add powders. Now how long has it been after the update without major changes apart from lag? Indeed alot of players are still waiting for new quests and the new powder system. Because not everyone has the motivation to grind. Apart from all this I understand it takes time to make good working things especially if you use minecraft as some kind of game engine to make your own game. But the biggest mistake Wynncraft has made over the last years is announcing things that werent even close to being finished. That stops me and my friends from playing because we endup waiting for things we were promised months ago.

    *End of summer
Rip South East Asia over here rainy season has begun, summer ending in one month

Anyways, I first joined the server in the last week of May, 2014. First off, I've never seen the server with 7K players. Perphaps 4K tops. Next, I feel like the server itself isn't losing popularity, but the forums are. I've seen some guys leave the forums already, who I used to see ALL the time back then. (Or at the very least they aren't that active anymore). I'm not sure why, but I've somehow gotten a feeling that newer players are finding it harder to join the forum community since, well, to be frank, it's kinda deceiving. On one hand, you get a warm welcome and all that jazz from the Introduce yourself section. Once you step out of there though, I feel like it's just sarcastic post after shitpost after sarcastic post, and the list goes on. This might look daunting to a new player, like they're gonna do lost of work to fit in.
(Of course, it is possible, since @Cyclonic joined recently (by recently I mean he hasn't been here for a year) and he's pretty damn well-known, by some degree.)

That is too true. I love this community, it's one of, if not the best community on a minecraft server I've seen. But the main issue it has, is its too unfriendly to new players. Its where when someone posts something they didn't know was obvious and posting a sarcastic comment on said thread gave you free likes. I say we need to chill with the sarcasm when they are new, and instead tell them what is and isn't acceptable and leave it be.
