What's All The Fuss About Quitting?

I'm sure it's happened to you all. You meet this player who's AWESOME and you two hang out and play together. You do quests and grind with them, you've got their back, and they've got yours.

But then, they just stop coming online.

And you forgot to ask them for their skype contact.

[Insert Swear Word Here]

Yeah, it sucks to have a good friend leave the server, but I understand why they do it. Maybe they're taking a break and forgot to tell you, or maybe they have things in their life preventing them from playing. Maybe they just moved on, or stopped enjoying the server. It sucks when they don't tell you anything about it, but that kind of stuff happens.

Or maybe they got banned, but that's besides the point.

What I don't get, is when people quit the forums. Big thread about leaving, or a profile post, and everyone makes a huge fuss over it. This is fine, I don't mind people that do this, nor do I mind the people that are sad to see them go. Some people might hate these posts, but I don't mind. That part I understand. THE PART I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS THIS:

Why, WHY, does everyone that quits the forums act like they can't come back!? I could go find any post about someone leaving the forums, and find that they haven't been on the forums since. It's just, why? They make this huge ordeal about never seeing their friends from wynn again, but it just doesn't make sense! The forums are right here, they aren't going away. If you're going to miss your friends from the forums so much, why don't you come back and say "Hi!" every once in a while instead of acting like you just got banned from the forums and the server and the internet all at the same time. It baffles me! If you liked the community so much, why did you quit anyways?

I'm not trying to bash on people that have left the server or the forums or both, I'm just confused. If you like the people here so much, why don't you come and visit every once in a while?

I was on a forum once with basically this same problem, except people actually did come back and say hi. People were extremely toxic to those who did this. I believe this could be a factor in why those who leave feel like they can never come back.

Drama Queens? ._.
There were similar situations that I've seen on this server I used to play on (It's down now because people only played on the server because of a big YouTuber, but then they all quit and chargedback the server even though they were "donating." (Sad, sad people -_-).)
There were these players that would be all like: "I'm leaving the server, I'll miss you guys ;-;" And then some other stuff that implies that they're leaving for good. And then a couple days later: "HEY GUYS IM BACK, DID YA MISS MEH?" And I'm just there, internally facepalming. "Why did you make such a big deal of it if you're just gonna come back? -.-" I didn't actually type this in the chat, I just thought it.

 

Because we're all lifeless introverts and have no friends, so having one leave sucks

I don't understand what's all the fuss about somebody's action and your interpretation.

Also, many people who quit the forums come back to threads like this, which discredit them as valuable members of the community, while also managing to play the creator off as a victim.

I will admit, Xavier, you're not my favorite forum member, but I feel that this thread is disrespectful to the community. Not just the current community, but the past and future communities as well. I'm not here to stir up drama, but I do feel that you are blowing this way out of proportions. I almost feel like you are trying to take responsibility for others actions as well...

Also, the world isn't a perfect society in which everyone gets along, and everyone only takes what they need. That is called Communism, and you all know how that worked out.

Once again, I am not trying to attack you, XavierEXE as a person, but I feel that you are presenting an argument that hurts itself, and that's not a great thing to present.

I think this only insults drama queens who think people care about the leaving so they don't come back to make people remember them. I am personally glad these people are getting insulted.
