Requesting A Wiki Party

Hello, fellow WynnCrafters! I have another request for everyone who interested in the Wiki. We have a lot of mob pages that are now obsolete, and had been needing fixing. We deleted all of them, in order to start a clean slate, so that we would not be confused by which pages had been remade, and which were old. Unfortunately, with the problems with the resource pack that some players have been experiencing, our lead Wiki writer, for this project, @BlahBlah161616 , has had a very difficult time continuing the rewrites. Therefore, I'm asking that our Wiki Warriors (anyone who has asked for, and been granted, write access) please help us remake and update the mob pages. Please follow the format that is currently used, and please add in location directions, in the same way that @Kepler_17c has done because it makes finding mobs so much easier.

The old mob images are in the Uncategorized Files pages on the Wiki. If they are still good, great, if not, grab new ones.

The main issue is the lack of reason for anyone to actually try and update the wiki..

 

I'm gonna continue to work on it.

 

With the Gavel update, and the changes in images due to the resource pack, there is plenty of reason to update the Wiki, besides it being THE resource for new players.

 

It's because people are too lazy to help.

 

I know, but there's a lot of work there, and anyone that I can coax into helping you, is a little less work on your shoulders. Between your format changes, and @Kepler_17c's direction specifications, finding the major mobs is going to be so much easier. Very cool.

Nah, I think they just need direction, because the Wiki is so big, that they don't know what to do next. So, here we have the mob pages. Next up, will be . ...

Lets be real for a second. A majority of players on wynncraft have no idea there is a wiki. And when I said there is a lack of reason, many people will simply see updating it a waste of time due to the lack of use the wiki gets.

 

There's literally a pop-up that says there's a wiki. First thing you do when you have a problem? Google it. The top result for almost any Wynncraft involved question is the wiki.

 

Yes, let's do be real. I've lost count of the number of times that I've seen players directed to the Wiki when they have questions. I can stand around in Ragni and Detlas, and answer dozens of questions an hour, and point dozens of players an hour, to the Wiki, for further help. I can't even begin to count the number of times that I've referred to the Wiki, over the past two years, for information. Then again, I've got more than 10 classes, and I can't remember where everything is, all of the time. So, sometimes, I just have to refer someone to the Wiki, because I can't remember every detail of every quest. That's what's real.

 

I believe that they could link us to it more, but I think most people know about it.

 

What about implementing it into the tutorial?
It would be helpful show it to every new player.
A special possibility would be a quest part linking you to the wiki (keeping you in a safe location not to be killed).
There would be a code you have to enter during the tutorial.
Maybe a bit annoying for those who know it and just creating another class.
Therefore, it should be a question a wynncrafter knows and new ones don't.
E.g. 'Where do you find the first identifier?' - all should know it is Detlas

 

So, this request got a bit sidetracked, or hijacked, actually. So, @ThatScarfDude , if you have any more negative comments or complaints, take them to a pm with us Wiki admins. This thread is not for the purpose of discussing the obvious usefulness of the Wiki. Any further hijacking, and it will be reported to the mods.

BACK TO MY REQUEST: Wiki writers, please help us get the mob pages up to date. You can either just tackle what you want, or you can ask BlahBlah161616 what pages he knows are being worked on, so that you don't duplicate your efforts. Or, you can post in this thread what page(s) you are working on.

I think adding it to what the king of Ragni says would be helpful.

 

I like the idea. It's up to Salted, as the head dev, whether or not he wants it.

Might be a better idea to add them to the "broadcast"-messages!
