Lore/Story [art/story] Aerenoth: Alerus Of Southmarsh

Hello! Before you ask what Aerenoth is, and those that know that name ask what the hell is going on, Aerenoth is the D&D-like setting that I have created and I'd like to share some of the lore and "art" (if you can even call my crappy drawings that) that I have created for this world, if you'd like to see more then let me know!

Alerus, the children of Argus, God of Men, and Aleran, Goddess of Beasts. They live in the disease-ridden Southmarsh where only wild beasts, swarms of plague bugs and gigantic fish are able to live in. Alerus, along with the Kobolds, are considered by many to be inferior races and in the Mythic Era were even enslaved by the Snow Elves of Prywin and the Pure Elves of Crystalness and The Crystal Isles.

During the early Mythic Era, when the Pure Elves came out of The Crystal Isles and started expanding throughout the mainland of Aerenoth, they found the Alerus while walking the border of the poisonous swamps of Southmarsh and considered them, like the other Beast Race, the Kobolds, inferior and started taking them to Crystalness as slaves. The Kobolds were also enslaved in Prywin by the bastard race of Snow Elves.
A couple hundred years before The Great War with the Lord of Destruction Sul-Bnack, an Alerus slave was said to have been visited by an angel that gave her a pendant with a glowing emerald that would inspire everyone around her, and a sharp, thin, long steel blade. With that pendant and sword, this slave that was known as Lerydia inspired all the other slaves and led a revolution against their elven masters; it is said that, with that thin blade, she stabbed the Elven Emperor through the heart, killing him and freeing all slaves that came with her. Word of Lerydia's revolution spread across Aerenoth and slaves all around Crystalness started revolting. A few years later, King Baleran The Greater of the Elves banned Alerus and Kobold slavery throughout all of Crystalness and The Crystal Isles.
During the Great War with Sul-Bnack, while the other races and provinces were struggling to fight against the Orc armies, the Alerus were fine in Southmarsh, in fact, the Alerus' combat tactics and stealth attacks completely held back the Orc armies, so much that Sul-Bnack completely gave up on conquering Southmarsh.
After the Great War ended and Sul-Bnack was banished to the Abyss the Alerus started spreading across the other provinces of Aerenoth and today are treated like all other races in most people however, there are still a lot of people that hate the Alerus and consider them inferior.
During the Dragon Crisis at the start of the First Era a big chunk of Southmarsh was completely burnt down and Seaf The Sleeping Dragon even made a big part of Southmarsh it's home, only to be slain 35 years later.
In the Year 562 of The Second Era a great plague spread across all of Aerenoth, killing half of the population in the whole continent, the only race that wasn't affected were the Alerus due to their natural disease immunity; after 51 years the plague finally dissipated, however, the Elves blamed the Alerus of creating the plague because they were the only ones that were not affected. Alerus were banned from even entering Crystalness and Elves even started hunting Alerus in the border of Southmarsh.
The Alerus made a pact with the Kobolds, the Ester and the Dwarves, thus creating the Westguard, to fight the Fayfall, an alliance made between the Pure Elves, the Snow Elves and the Mere. This war lasted for 18 years.
When the Undead Curse first appeared the Alerus seemed to be immune to it and were hunted because they were thought to somehow be a cure, however, a couple of years later it was discovered that Alerus were also affected by the Undead Curse. Just like all the other races, the Alerus had no easy way to dispatch the Undead and so they would send them to The Soulless Swamps, the garbage heap of Southmarsh which is now full of Soulless wandering around, helplessly looking for the souls of the living.
Today Alerus are still chased and killed due to racism however, after many years of war, they are finally accepted in most cities and holds of Aerenoth.
