Life Of A Forumite.

This thread is for documenting the common paths that a forumite goes through on these forums. Their evolution, the different types of forumites, everything.

STAGE 1: THE BEGENNING

new adventurer: (in wynncraft rarity terms common)
There seem to be three types of brand new players.
1) random Steve, 1 post then gone. (Depressing items)
2) wanderer. Trying to find a forum to call home.
3) the dedicated. Love wynncraft, want to join the community.

Only types 2 and 3 last more then 10 posts.

Then we see a divergence. The types of players at this level are determined by their likes to messages, compared to how Long they have been on. Again, there are generally three.
(The unique items)
1) many many posts, few likes. Is either very strange or only in trade section.

2) many many likes, few posts. Is probably only doing profile posts, or maybe is a new artist.

3) a nice balance. These people can be almost anyone.

Once you hit 100 posts, you move onto stage 2

STAGE 2: THE JUDGING

This is where the regulars (rare items) deviate from the newcomers. There are a few ways for one to become "a regular;" (our definition of a regular is someone who will not leave the forums without telling others first, and is known by other forumites) here are the most common ways:

1) post a lot. Once you reach 300, almost no one can say you are new. A varying on subsections is recommended.

2) join a high ranking guild. This connects you with a group of regulars, who you make friends with and keep you from leaving.

3) make cool content. You don't need many posts for this, but if you have a talent and use it to make wynncraft things, you are a regular.

4) stay up to date with the happenings. If you know all the teasers and secrets for the next wynncraft update, you are a regular.

Now that you are a regular, you slowly gain friendships and get to known the community. Making friends is what really tied you to the community.

Also here is where you make the ultimate decision. Trade market or literally anywhere else. If you are reading this thread, I already know what your decision was.

PART THREE: the legendary "items"

Now you are a full member in wynncraft! But you are not one of those guys. You know who I am talking about. That's exactly why they are "those guys". Its because every regular knows who they are. Heres why you know these people.

1) Content team. If they are part of the content team AND active on the forums, that makes them the embodiment of god.

2) made something really cool. These are the people who have either consistently made great content, or have made one thing that is absolutely legendary and every regular has seen it. They are picasso, Indiana Jones, and Stanley Kubrick.

3) guild leader. A player who runs a top level guild? They must be Napoleon and Alexander the great at the same time.

4) insane amount of posts. 2000+? How do you even. Even more impressive if they have a good like ratio with it, but not necessary at this level. They must be Shakespeare or Socrates.

And the. Of course we have the admins at the Mythic items.

Really? I have been on many forums, and this is the first that uses forumer. I guess it's just that I am from Seattle, and here we are called Seattleites.

Yeah, it's the complete opposite for me. Never seen forumite before. It's fine to use it of course, since it's easy to understand what you mean

 

You call them 'Legendary', I call them 'Famous'.

But I wouldn't consider myself to be that.

Also, the forums have a massive split: 50% Merchants who never stray from the trade market, 50% regular people who never touch the trade market.

I'm probably just a regular. L/M ratio certainly isn't great. I've made something interesting, though.

 

I was trying to use Wynncraft rarity terms there. The mods would be the Mythics. And also about the trade market Lol that's completely right. I should add that in.

 

But what about professional shitposters like me who hog likes and treat them as life support and will wither and die without them or something over-dramatic like that. 1936 posts and 3,858 likes are very different things and I don't fit into these categories

If I could I'd make a category for myself on this thread I'd call it "public restroom graffiti"

Mods/Builders/GMs: Legendary Items.
Admins: Mythics.
Spambots: Glitched Vanilla Items.
