How Do You Create Better Horses?

I tried to combine 2 brown horses and it didn't make a better one.

 

If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

 

It's a 20% chance to get a better horse, 50% chance to keep the same, and 30% to get a downgrade. (downgrades only "work" on tier 2+)

 

I knew there was a chance to get a worse one but I didn't know if you had to combine it with a different colour horse. Thanks for helping :)

Actually I heard somewhere (not reliable) that higher exp levels = higher chances to get better horse.

it agrees just cuz there is no official proof it affects it. i tested it with 2 classes: one turned in the quest with dxp and the other with around 140% xp armor. The 2nd got more xp.

how did you get to quest xp from horse breeding?
