Flight In Distress Gone Screwy

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread but I'm gonna post it here and it can be moved if necessary.
Was doing the flight in distress quest on my mage class, I got to the part where you have to shift on the pressure plate to look through the keyhole in the door. I accidentally held down right click and then it teleported me into the command block room with the door I guess. So despite my annoyance being on the last stage I killed myself since I had nothing else to do at the point figuring I'd have to redo the quest - since I have seen people say if you die you have to restart. But here I am trying to redo the quest and none of the dialogue isnt working now, and I cannot get back to the final phase of the ship where the key and pirates are at and its super irritating.
Am I just doomed to not complete this quest now? People have to have died on this quest before so what do you do? Is there a way to reset it for me?

Unfortunately I have no idea how to help, hopefully someone can fix this for you.

 

ignore dialogue, just run through the "portals" Just run the quest as if you were talking to the npcs, so like, up to ackbar, outside, run to the kid till you get teleported, run back, up to ackbar, bed, engineering room, get the button code right, back to engineer, back to ackbar, bed, downstairs, into the pirate ship. That should be all.

for the engineer code he says the first 3 colours you must input if you talk to him so its just a manner of figuring out the last 3 colours.

 

You know how it teleported you every so often the first time through? Yeah, you have to re-teleport through every version of the airship.

 

A bug. probably should report...

 

Alright, 50 years later I seem to have progressed. It was the part after talking to the kid and going back to ackbar that was causing problems. But I just got it to work, it wasnt letting me back into the bedroom, but I just got in after running around the ship 400 times. I imagine I can just keep going from here, so I'll report back in a few if I get it to work. They should add something to take you back to where you left off in this quest though, because that caused me gray hairs way before my time.

Quest completed, problem solved. Just very finicky but you can get it to work by going through the teleports again.
