Guide Abandoned Mines

Ok, so I know I have been posting a lot of threads lately, and I know I have been wrong on most of them, but I am trying something new.

So this thread is NOT about lore at all. Not about any assumptions, not about anything like that. Just a little guide to one of the lesser used areas.

So I found that not many people go the the abandoned mines... And I wanted to make a little guide on what I think about the mines/ found about the mines. Not I know the abandoned mines are part of the storyline, but I will try to avoid all that for this thread.

Lets go right into it:

• No quests (or none that I have found) take you into the mines. So if you want a nice grinding spot without being interrupted too much, its a great place.
• All the mobs are mid-30 levels, making it a good grinding spot for levels 30-45
• There are a good loot chests in the mines. At least 2 lvl 3's
• The troll relic shrine is in the mines. (I hope saying this does not break the rules, since its not an actual relic)
• There are corrupted ore in the mines and I have found (I may be wrong on this) That the gold ore has the same emerald drop chance as any other mob, but drops 2 emeralds instead of 1. Good if you need money.
• I did not find this until recently, but if you go through the most eastern passage (the one with the corrupted ore) and keep going, you pop out right near Rymek. Handy if you don't want to have to go all the way through the desert.
• IDK why, but I found it interesting that you can find Wynn Excavation crates in the mines
• Mobs include: Corrupted ore, Corrupted miners, Dead prospectors (if you need gold ingots), and corrupted minecarts
• You might sometimes find me in the Server 1 Abandoned Mines

So yeah, that's my little guide to the in game stuff about the Abandoned Mines.

It might also worth noting the the corrupted ore place is also a pretty good grinding spot for the level 35-45 range.

I recently found out you could get in the corrupted mines through the canyon area! I never really bothered to check either the abandoned mines or the canyon area to find out :S

 

I know right? I was farming that gold ore for emeralds and XP and I kept going and suddenly I am next to rymek. I don't think many people know about that entrance because not many people go to the mines

Heck, the only reason I was even there was for 3 reasons:
1) I wasted all my emeralds on breeding horses so I wanted the gold ore's double E drop
2) I needed to level up to use my Relic Chestplate
3) I wanted to check out the fake shrine and the area as a whole

I'm actually surprised the area has no quests or anything taking you there. (I really hope they add something with this area, it's so cool...)

 

There is a loot chest IV there. :D

 

Where? I've only found up to III

 

In the zone in the right, where there are Zombie miners, In a tunnel, Its easy to find since none goes there...

 

Hmm I will take a look next time. I know I did open a chest or two without checking the level.

Haha, that's true. But not lots of people go grind in Abandoned Mines, for me it is not worth to go there just to take the loot chest IV. Im too lazy.

The Gold Ores do not drop any more emeralds than any other Lv 35 enemy.

 

yea. it was added in the 1.12 update. I guess its one of the only reasons its there other then a grind spot...

@GhostbuilderYT why did you wnet through ~250 pages to tell someone who is not at forums anymore, that you can prove there is tIV in abandoned mines?

 

Aren't mods supposed to close necro'd pages, not continue them?
